Total and complete vindication.

agree with the first 3 words but vindication is not my choice for the final word 😛

Gone to hell in a handcart.

the handcart was found found to have oversized wheels but the results stands as it was beyond doubt that hell is the destination

Aye back in the day when the Dark Lord was Imperial Wizard at the BSPA Hilton , Glasgow wouldn't have got that decision .

It vindicates the fact that Glasgow would almost certainly have won the meeting.

Doesn't vindicate the rumour mongering and veiled accusations of some on here (and elsewhere)

We need to move on and hopefully when the Tigers come to Redcar again we will have a full team and a bit more luck going for us on track.

Aye I hope there's no lingering bad feeling between our two clubs , I've a lot of good friends among the Bears fans , even stayed at Big Russ' house one year when the Tigers were down , even went for a Parmo lol . Time to draw a line under this meeting now .

To be fair Glasgow did deserve the points, however this independent ruling and interpretation does concern me for future contentious issues. It comes back to how you read the rule, to me the result to be beyond doubt is at the end of 15 heats not 10, which is obviously what this is based on.

Does this mean then that if a team is 16 points ahead after 7 heats and meeting cannot go ahead the result will be called?

Anyway looks like we can move on now!

Just read the report on the Tigers website - I was willing to forgive and forget, but they've put "Teeside" instead of "Teesside".

Again!

Deliberate act of provocation - is there anything in the rule book to say we can appeal? If there isn't can we get the rules changed to say there should be?

I understand the frustration , a meeting should run 15 heats before a result counts . But promoters have been eroding the value for money factor for years now . You do worry where the sport will be in 5 years time .

Re the arguement that the result should be called despite not running heat 10 as the result want in doubt.

The regulations don't allow it so it cannot/should not happen.

Look at the regulation re averages and the requirement for 4 home 4 away. There is provision to award a new average without this being met and it still is not so why would it be decided to make an award of a match result where there is no such provision in any circumstance.

Try Art 15.12 of the Speedway Regulations

Oh dear oh dear oh dear

At least Neil will be happy

Why would I be happy? I have no direct interest in the meeting concerned.

I was however aware of the rule, having successfully requested exactly the same ruling for a Coventry Storm meeting in 2015.

The sport in 5 years time . If this carries on at this rate there won't be a sport called speedway in this country

FFS. So Speedway is now 9 heats, unless you're lucky and you may get anything from 10 to 15 heats.

They wonder why people stop going, its because people want to see 15 heats!

Oh and the result wasn't certain, it was still possible for Redcar to score 39 to Glasgows 32, meaning it was still possible for Glasgow to leave with nothing.

There are factors that makes this BSPA decision understandable and clear in their statement.

  • Heat 10 had already been started twice with the exclusions of both Redcar riders
  • As stated, at worst Glasgow would still have been 8 up if their rider's hadn't completed the heat
  • Because of the worst possible outcome of heat 10 and the Bears curfew at 10pm no other outcome was possible

Sour grapes???? This is a decision made for the right reasons whether we agree or not. There is no way a team should be punished for another tracks curfew, not in a million years. And if I'm honest its something that I've been concerned about previously.

No one is paying full whack for nine heats . wherever that came from its just bollocks.

I'm paying full price - I lost my rain off ticket.
