slyfox
after 4h 4a you get you're new averages after a week then fortnightly updated Can never understand why you have to wait a week before you can use the new average when they can calculate it immediately after the meeting. It is actually 8 days as you cannot use it for your next home meeting. e.g. Ellis Perks new average is calculated as at last Thursday. 4 x H & 4 x A. But Redcar cannot use it tomorrow for a guest as it does not kick in till Friday apparently.
Icicle
I thought they just closed their eyes stuck a pin in some random numbers & hey presto that's the average...

NeilWatson
Can never understand why you have to wait a week before you can use the new average when they can calculate it immediately after the meeting. But Redcar cannot use it tomorrow for a guest as it does not kick in till Friday apparently. It would only be the case that new averages cannot be used for the next home meeting if that meeting fell in the seven-day 'window' after being achieved. Art 16.2.6.1 Updated MAs will be calculated on all eligible meetings, up to and including Mondays meetings each fortnight for issue on Thursday to become effective from the next Monday.  Art 16.2.7 A SGB Premiership or Championship League rider will establish an MA after 4 Home and 4 Away fixtures, becoming effective 7 days after the last qualifying Meeting....  As far as I can see Ellis completed his 4th away meeting on 27/5 so will have a new average from Sat 3rd June Edited June 1, 2017 by NeilWatson
Max the rebel
On most riders on offical green sheet average updates on BSPA site riders when they get 4h 4a they get an average and when it comes into play but Ellis Perks has not got any new ave or when it takes affect as of latest one issued on 30 May 2017 can anyone explain this
bruno
I suppose they have to wait 7 days because someone has to work them out using a pencil and paper and then post them out to the clubs. 2nd class as well to save money
Max the rebel
But they do an online amended version most days but not for Ellis Perks strange
ruffdiamond
But they do an online amended version most days but not for Ellis Perks strange there seems to be a lot of interest in Ellis Perks, Adam Ellis averages at the minute,,, any enquires to either at the speedway office, will only lead to confusion IMO
IronScorpion
NeilWatson has got it spot on. Â Ellis Perks 4th away meeting was on Saturday 27/5 at Berwick which meant he would receive a new correct average 7 days later(3/6). The averages are then continuous(rolling) using 2017 league meetings only & changed every fortnight as the rule explained. Â What you see on the website is the average changing after every meeting all clubs ride but as the note above states "These Are Not Official Averages"
northyorksbear
See the tea lady is in charge of issuing the new averages again - Starke gets a new average (which surprisingly hasn't changed) but nothing for BWD - then reissue to correct this. Â Good news for Redcar - Perks stays at reserve for another 4 weeks!! Edited June 1, 2017 by northyorksbear

RS50
Why are they called "Green Sheet" averages?
northyorksbear
Because they were printed on green peper
RS50
Because they were printed on green peper Green peper that's not to be sneezed at. Seriously would it not be an idea to call them "excel" averages. I presume they are computerized by now.
