Scunthorpe V Peterborough Koc

Recommended Posts

I just read Chris Harris's tweet - he confirms the decision was made by ALL riders from BOTH teams.

Sorry to those with an anti-Peterborough agenda.

If Chris Harris thinks a track is bad and unraceable then it is. I've seen him race around in tracks with puddles in them.

Sitting at home, looking at pictures of Scunthorpe & imagining you were a speedway rider.

999/1000 I would take the opinion of Baldy over any one of the pussycats posting.

Perhaps today is the 1 exception to prove the rule.

Although how many digging into Baldy were actually there themselves?

They were quite happy to give opinions too blindly backing their teams point of view despite also not possessing all the facts at the time....

The track at the end looked ok, if people were just turning up and saw it they wouldnt have had a clue it was drenched, as we went out the blade machine took off the top dressing and was sludge underneath.just a shame after all the hard work put in for a call off

well I was there, and it looked like a ploughed field. Never was going to go ahead, and should have been called off an hour earlier

Who was that then?

With a bit of pressure from the boss...

Still can't believe they didn't give it a go after that track work

The attitude of some today was quite evident..

I Was there as well and yes the track did look heavy after they had worked on it. But I have seen it looking worst at the beginning of meetings in the past and normally after a few races its fine. In fact the sun was out and in parts it looked like it was already drying out. But as the riders walked around it was clear from the body language that one team were happy to ride and one team wasn't going to

there was heavy rain on friday night and the track was flooded, rob did say that after the 8 hr amatuer meeting they were working on the track upto midnight, maybe why the track today was sludgy underneath? just one downpour too many?

Wont steam into the pussycats as impossible to say when youre not there.

Ultimately it is down to the ref. However much a team moans it is their final decision.

So long as he genuinely believed it was unfit then its legit. If he just bowed to undue pressure then its not.

Only those right in the middle of it will know the truth.

I was there.

The track was complete rubbishe after the rain and it flooded both the first and third bends, it was bloody obvious to most that it was never going to be raceable but Godfrey and his track staff gave it a good go at which the referee and the two captains decided no thanks and it was called off, it was also clear from comments made from both sets of riders that none of them wanted it to continue.

New signing Josh Auty! Richard Hall unavailable apparently

What an absolute anti climax and you could feel the deflation in the stadium when Auty was announced as the new signing ,yes speedway in this country has become an absolute joke

I was there, & the track was never going to be fit to ride. Godfrey was desperate to get the meeting back on, but made a bad decision keeping us all in the stadium for that length of time, in my opinion. Once again, the paying customer is the last person on a greedy promoters mind. The fact the woman on the gate didn't know who we had to email for a refund speaks volumes for the way we are treated. We were very lucky that the rain came, as we looked like we were heading for a heavy defeat.
