Stars V Robins

Recommended Posts

Robert lambert should be doing better then he is imo yes he's only 19-20 but he's rode Lynn too long to not even win a race

But and it's a BIg but, Robert was the only Stars rider who seriously looked as if he could bring off a pass as he was always chasing hard enough to get by, if the rider in front made a mistake. 9 races were tapes to flag processions, after exiting the 2nd bend. Regardless of the surface, which looked good, modern bikes are racing flat out and NO rider can pass unless the rider in front does make an error under pressure. Gating is even more "king" than it ever was. Other points of interest made it enjoyable - especially Simon Lambert who made an excellent debut. If Posing can turn his form around all could be well but I would prefer to see him replaced with Tungate if the numbers fit. Holder looking more like a No1 but both he and Batchelor fade under pressure to some extent.

Oops! Another senior moment . I forgot to add that while I am one of Robert's biggest fans he will not make that final step up to world class until he can gate more consistently ( a la Doyle ) - especially away from the AFA.

It would have been interesting if Lambert had got the drop on Morris and/or Doyle from the gate. I don't think either would have got passed him. It was one of those nights when you needed to be either gate or be Jason Doyle. Rob Lambert certainly looked the fastest Lynn rider on show and gave it his all trying different lines. I don't quite get this 'He didn't win a race' I always thought a paid win was a win... He rode shotgun to Huckenbeck in one race.

Porsing has been disappointing after some decent performances last season. Simon Lambert as predicted has made a big difference already and will always outscore his opposing number 7 at home. Improvement from Holder but still would have ran a last in one race in heat 13 had Doyle not had his accident.

Porsing has it there in his locker. He seemed lack power in his opening 2 rides, but was much quicker in his final ride after being pulled out of his 3rd outing. Can see him down at Reserve very shortly. Should be a handy tool there. I just Hope Huckenbeck can do a job at 3/4
