Will Paul Hurry pull in the fans for this sunday meeting,,With Zac, and Ben its a powerfull top end,and Bowtell scoring well. ,question is can the long tail secure enough points between them for the victory over a strong Cradley side....Fingers crossed on the weather...

I would be more concerned with the weather, its supposed to get a higher risk of storms breaking out during the humid afternoon and if the traffic is as bad as its been the last 48 hours then it wont help.

Personally I think the track staff have done a brilliant job this season ,A big improvement on Gerald Richter never did rate him now doing Rye House says it all really .....Hopefully the storms will not arrive till the evening,,That's the forecast I believe,,antisipating an exciting match....

If lakeside can't pull in a decent crowd tomorrow, then the alarm bells will definitely be ringing.

What would constitute 'a decent crowd' cityrebal? IMO there should be a good attendance - the local weather forecast appears favourable so no reason why the size of the attendance today should not bring happy smiles :icon_smile_clown: :icon_smile_clown: :icon_smile_clown: to the faces of the Lakeside promotion team.

track watering is always a big problem for daytime meetings, but if there is not too much wind and a humid atmosphere, we might just get away

with it. Got to be one of our most important fixtures of the season and a test to see iff the inclusion of Paul Hurry has the dsired effect crowd-wise.

There is a nasty band of storms coming up from France, should stay clear from the East side of the country but will be worth keeping an eye on, humid days like this, they can pop up at a moments notice.

I remember when we signed Rickardsson for a few meetings and it didn't pull any more supporters through the turnstiles Iam not sure how many Cook thinks he is going to get because of a 40 year old Hurry.

It may not but it could maintain the current spectator base. After all, who would you rather watch, Mason or Hurry?

I have not been there so far this season and won't be there today, but this change means i will consider going in future provided i hear good reports about the race experiance offered on race days, today for example i expect passing to be a premium but only because of the weather rather than a perceived lack of track preparation.

Lakeside had to much top end power for Cradley whos only race winner (twice) was Connor Dwyer,...,But an exciting match was touch and go for much of the afternoon,,,Hammers pulling away in the last 5 races with 3 4-2s,,,Paid 4 ride max for Hurry on his league home debut ..full max for Zach,, with Ben on 11,, and Bowtell on 8 ,, provided the main bulk of the scoring, ..late on stirling efforts from Tom Perry kept the Heathens in with a chance of a match point..... Though Danny Ayers struggled to get to grips with the track today ,,,The track was kept in excellent condition all afternoon,, a credit to the track staff...the heavens opened during heat 15 which was completed just in time ..... Decent crowd must have enjoyed todays Speedway....Got the feeling Cook is still looking at possible no 2s, as the bottom end is still weak

Do you know what Cook said about Hurry and the other National league teams?
