stevebrum
Maybe next season the BSPA will make it top 7 from each semi to allow for injured or a rider getting stuck in traffic etc to be given a wildcard In seriousness there should be wildcards for this event as it's hardly the best that's on offer. If Woffy had a change of heart there should be the option to include him in particular. Not to have our next great hope Lambert in the line up either is farcial. Granted he didn't qualify which makes situations like missed meetings a good call to leave at least one space free for a wildcard. It's hardly an inspiring line up to tempt big crowds to attend.

I agree with the wildcard option......but not this year. Its unfortunate but the rules should not be changed just for one rider. Tai asked for one last year and was told no....even though King was given one for riding elsewhere
Super Blue
Well, as a Witches fan I'm rooting for Danny King although I think the track will be far too dry for him this year, last years rain suited him perfectly creating a wider line to pass Cook in the final. As a second choice it would be fun on here if Rory won, the proverbial big can of worms worms would be opened, especially if he got the Cardiff wild card pick. Side issue, there's been much debate about Robert Lambert not being in the final. He didn't qualify for well known reasons and shouldn't be in the final, that should be that, I don't see what all the fuss is about.

g13webb
Maybe next season the BSPA will make it top 7 from each semi to allow for injured or a rider getting stuck in traffic etc to be given a wildcard Are there 32 British riders good enough to be considered to be British Champion. That's how many riders you need to have 2 semi-finals and a Final. Bearing in mind the number of meetings these riders have to race wouldn't it be better to give the top eight riders a free pass to the final and the field made up of one semi-final of 16 riders when the first 8 goes into the final. Then the final will be assured of all the top riders, It will be a bigger draw to the fans and television.

It should be an open system to allow everyone the same chance to qualify. Mark Loram in 1993 broke his collarbone and never got seeded. Steve Bastable and Neil Evitts could easily have missed out on the final if certain riders had of been seeded. I agree that we could have some wildcards but 2 at the most. The Cheese
Did a quick search to see if anything is mentioning this meeting and it has made the list of Monday's best TV from the guardian "Speedway: British Final Manchester’s National Speedway Stadium is the venue for a star-studded lineup. 7.30pm, BT Sport 1" A slight exaggeration maybe to call it star-studded but I'm sure nobody will realise Hoping for a Harris or Cook win but there are quite a few that you could make a case for.

2ndbendbeerhut
I'd like to see 2 seeds for the final.. previous years champ and the under 21 champ. If we want our youngsters to do well they need to be in meetings like these.

screm
this field with Woffy & Lambert would have been one of then best in a while. Oh well.. Woffinden could quite easily be in the Final tonight, all he had to do was add the qualifiers into his diary. It was his choice to turn his back on British speedway, I dont see why he would be deserving of a wildcard into tonight's meeting.

He could quite easily have been in the final last year...................they chose not to allow him in. Something i totally agree with by the way After that i guess he cant be bothered with it. Again the final is before a GP so im guessing even if asked he wouldnt risk injury Edited June 19, 2017 by Gavan

Doesn't stop us wishing both he and Lambert were in the field though. Both seemingly brought it on themselves so no sympathy for either but it's us the fans that are being shortchanged by them. Ah well.
