Please correct me if i´m wrong but is´nt this the first French World Title in any form of trackracing?

.

First French World Champ was Fernand Meynier, Speedway ("Dirt Track") World Champion of 1933, in the Buffalo Stadium, Paris.

Runner-up was Bluey Wilkinson, 3rd was Billy Lamont.

Fuller details HERE

.

Though not an official FICM-recognised meeting, Meynier's success in a field that included Bluey and Lamont testifies to the status of his win. No other Frenchman has taken a World title.

World Team Longtrack Roden Netherlands

Help please. I am looking to attend, but could do with some guidance.

Is the first race 1:00pm (12:00 uk time)

Will I be able to pay on the gate?

Looking to fly in to Schipol and catch the train so timing is a bit tight if not including a stop over.

Many thanks

Looks a very open line up this year. Germany probably have the edge on paper but several other strong looking combinations. Will be especially interested to see how the Swedes get on.

Gb would have a decent chance if Harris was in the side.Still look capable of a medal i think.Looks quite close with one or two riders capable of taking points from each other.Don't see Sweden finishing high up.Has Lathi(sic) done Longtrack before?

Lahti cant ride as he was part of the swedish swc team. Interesting that the fim has announced his name after saying themselves he cant do it. And no, hasnt ridden lt before.

Jannick de Jong out for 4 years having tested positive for Amphetamine after a doping test carried out early last season. Seems he drank from the wrong Coke bottle at a student party. With google translate from Polish, this was his excuse with two of his friends testifying to this.

At 30 you would think that length of ban would practically retire him? Certainly a sad way to bow out after an illustrious career but if you move if iffy circles............

I remember seeing him for the first time at Collier Street as a 19 year old. Had never even heard of him at that point and he flew round finishing 2nd in the final i think? From that point on i could see he would go on to big things. 1 x Longtrack Champ & 3 x runner up. 3 x Euro titles. 2 x Team titles & 8 x national champion is massive by any standards and yet i still feel like he has under achieved? Looked a strong favourite for another Longtrack championship before his suspension and who knows what would have happened over the coming years.
