Redcar V Scunthorpe Sgb Cl

Recommended Posts

Auty's confidence must be shot to pieces since being dropped by Leicester as that is when his scores have declined. He might of been thinking "why me, what have I done wrong, especially after last year", "Uncle Bates" might have had a say in this with his Sheffield connections. There might, also, be something amiss in his personal life or sponsors.

It wasn't even a numbers game as it was mentioned by their media that it was because of availability. This was because we arranged many fixtures early & hence, they coincided with Leicester's race nights. It could happen again if Sheffield race away on a few Saturday nights meaning both Bjerre & Bates could be unavailable.

This is really baffling; Josh Auty brilliant on form; Ryan one of the best Aussie prospects in my opinion and Wilko as experienced a rider as you'll find at this level and 'all at sea' ???. Then there's JB who really is finding it hard at the tail end. No wonder we're running low ?; at the moment we only have three riders we can call upon MPT; Lewis and Tero as it proved last night. Once Stefan is fit; there will be a decision to make I suppose.

The team as it is; is far far better than our form suggests and it just is really disappointing and baffling really. On form you would take them to give any team a run for their money. Riders do run in and out of form; that's speedway; but rarely do you see three riders in the same team doing so. Injuries may have played a part; speedways a tough sport and if you are carrying a knock its bound to 'reign you in a bit'. So fully understand that and the riders have my maximum respect at all time for what they do. We just want them to do well and want them to know that we back them; through this tough period.

If you look at the best reserves in the league and it has to be Matty Williamson - Worky and Ellis Perks; plus Ayres - Redcar and the first two were actually attached to Scunny. JB is a great little prospect but he's finding it hard going at the moment.

Berwick had a stinking start to the season; but then went out and brought in Nick Morris as No1 and with Gappmaier on form things are turning around a little. Point is they have made the changes; to try to turn things around.

Newcastle at home Monday has become a 'must win' to put a stake in the ground and restore a belief. It will not be easy with Lambert & the Diamonds in opposition. Keep backing the team.

Is there a witch hunt out for Josh Auty? There are 3 others under performing at the head of the queue before Josh and they are well known. Speedway is a confidence game and we have a big shortage of that. Josh , Wilko and Ryan great to watch blasting around the outside in the dirt, but this season all are hugging the inside??? Not a fan of the 5.30pm home start for us as the track is unpredictable -much prefer a later start up personally. One day they will all hit a purple patch and some favourable side will get a hiding-just seems a long way off right now.

Keep the faith!

I agree that on paper side looks ok, what you do lack is the real number 1 who can regularly go to tracks and beat the home side's top men and a number 7 who is competitive.

Last night Wilko and Auty were woeful, for 2 ex bears and Douglas nowhere near to form he has shown in the past.

How is it shocking when almost everyone predicted Scunthorpe would be near the bottom of the table? As others have said no number 1 and incosistent at best middle order and reserves. Auty has been at this level for years and never improved

Get him a GTR

It is ok buying one but a fine art setting one up. Ryan has one & so does Porsing at Kings Lynn. Both teams run by promoters who are the Chairman & Vice-Chairman of the BSPA who, also, had a say in the GTR being made available to the British Leagues & being in contact with Gerhard personally.

Lindgren has had the opportunities to be the works rider for Gerhard with him having more meeting to get accustomed to the engine & Gerhard being readily available as shown by him being at the GP's to help out. Joonas Kylmakorpi, who has been helping out Lindgren in the GP's & abroad, has said that the engine is quicker now than it was last year(a running in period similar to new bikes & cars).

Josh did improve his average at the start of the season, but, as I have pointed out, something has gone amiss since his departure from Leicester. Maybe it is a confidence thing or a problem with his engines and/or parts that he is using. Ryan is rotating between his GTR & GM so is not getting the best out of himself, mind games. Wilko, as I have said earlier, is struggling & keeping to the inside too much. Does he need help in the pits with a mechanic or fellow rider. Bailey just cannot get off the line & mix it in the first 2 bends. After that he is generally up to speed & catches others but passing is another matter. Two meetings on consecutive days for Kings Lynn & Scunny, 6 rides & no points. What will that be doing to his head, confidence, parents & sponsors.

Let us go back to the 6.30 start( or even 6 00) as 5 30 is not working (I was wary, at the time, of who & how many were asked for the time change. Was it just the families & friends of the volunteers that help out at the track?). Even going back to Friday nights would suit a lot of supporters as many are now picking & choosing when they can get. The road works & infrastructure are not a problem now than 2 years ago. Entertainment is still key but winning more so, at the moment.

Think that Aunty needs a change of environment. Is in his comfort zone at Eddie Wright Raceway.

In all honesty the only track that seems to suit Auty now is Sheffield

In Ryan's defence I reckon Redcar is of his least favourites; never looks comfortable on it.

Are their any unbiased supporters out there that was there last night? If so, why wasn't Garcia penalised in heat one for going through the tapes? Unsatisfactory start my ar$e. even the Redcar supporters in the stand on bend 1 were laughing.. Heat 3, Douglas was going wide & Wright was following but bikes do not have mirrors! It is the same as going to the fence to stop a riders run, the throttle works both ways. Forceful was evident throughout the meeting on bends 1 & 2 giving us some good, fair entertainment.

Being stood in that stand, some 30-40 metres from the start line just shows how woeful we are at gating. We certainly need some tuition on how to gate through set ups.

I thought it was Palm-toft who demolished the tapes!

i am sure ryan will come good again he is a far too talented rider not to,remember he has a new mechanic this year and maybe a little time is needed for them both to gel and in time i am sure they will both get it togeather and ryan will bang in his usual double figure scores. failing that get the old mechanic back.

Not sure if I'm unbiased, but I was stood in front of the ref's box - right by the starting tapes.

It was Garrity who caused the mayhem at the tapes in Heat 1, by moving early. I'm unsure how he missed out on a warning, given that the referee was later handing them out like confetti.

Garrity moved, both MPT and Garcia went through the tapes.

All the best

I thought it was the two riders in the middle who both went through the tapes. Guess that's why the ref put all for back in or the other option was exclude both. Heat 3 Douglas went wide then locked up so Wright laid his bike down or he would have hit him. Douglas straightened up and carried on, Wright excluded. Not Douglas's fault but not Wright's neither but Wright certainly never fell.

Garcia wasn't looking that way though he was on gate 2. Correct decision in my opinion by the ref

I was stood right on the gate and Palm Toft definitely, broke the tapes, but it was a really twitchy start. I guess the ref thought there were mitigating circumstances.
