Newcastle V Edinburgh Ch 14/5/17 @ 6.30pm

Recommended Posts

Somewhere I think we can keep it close and get a point. Couple of changes in our riding order however. Ricky goes to number 1 Sam to 5. With mark Riss going to 4 and Max Clegg going to number 6.

Ben hopwood making his debut at reserve for the diamonds in this one also.

Weather report for those fans above the Border coming down to Newcastle today.

It's slightly overcast at the moment, but the sun is just about to start to peek out and be out for the rest of the day.

Little chance of rain, with maybe a spot in the afternoon, and the temperature is forecast to be 15 to 16 degrees.

So a nice day for a day out, and to see a good meeting between old foes the Diamonds versus the Monarchs. We tend to win up there, and they tend to win tour place, but I think we will win this one to deny them a point.

See you there.

Thanks for the weather report Tsunami

Our result will lie in the hands of Max I fear. If the change to reserve suits him.... great, but if not we will miss Mark taking extra rides.

Safe meeting for all

See you there indeed

I was hoping Monarchs would have considered moving Josh from riding in the opening heat away from home, in order that he could see how others were riding the track in the first two heats.

They could have kept the previous pairings for the majority of races, albeit in a different riding order , if they had lined up as Wells, Mark Riss, Masters, Pickering, Eric Riss, Clegg, Davey.

Not sure we will restrict the Diamonds to a six point win, given the impressive displays by Worrall & Lambert at Peterborough on Saturday.

If Clegg cannot improve at reserve today, imo we should be looking at the likes of Liam Carr as an alternative option.

Are you able to help out, still on the outlook if you can?

No doubt there will be the (ahem , cough ) unbiased version of events on the Monarchs Chatzone

No Chatzone updates today Paulco, they are helping us in trying to secure a texter.

Blimey they usually have no problems in that department , apart from the one time Midnight Lady asked me if I could do it at an Edinburgh v Glasgow meeting at Armadale a few years back , and the Chatzone nearly exploded lol . I didn't have to do it in the end up :P

If you are going to give Clegg a chance to pull his finger out at reserve it needs to be a bit longer than one meeting.

Agree - we've kept faith with him this long we need to give him a run at reserve to try to rebuild some confidence.

With a little bit of luck and who knows even a bit of gamesmanship (absolutely don't condone gamesmanship :nono: ), we could nick a point out of this.

But Newcy are pretty useful round their own field.

Well I never - great 2 points.

Keep the faith.

So pleased for Max Clegg. Never nice to see any rider struggling. That's one hell of a turn around in form :o

Indeed I had expected him to kick on this season so have been surprised at his struggles.

But tonight was an incredible score.
