bigcatdiary
don't know where rebels go from here. Well if the crowds drop off and they end up losing a packet over the season it's not a hard one is it, I don't know what the fans make of it all but for a club and supporters used to winning and success I don't see them enjoying this much.

I bet the Wolves fans aren't particularly being entertained by their huge wins apart from winning....

For our first season in "the big time" I don't really give two hoots what we do away from home. Winning at home though has to be a minimum requirement. The racing this season has been second to none and the best for many a year that I can remember. Â With a change to the team line up, we should start winning at home i would fancy. It'd be amazing if we could make the play offs but not sure that'll happen.
stevebrum
Heat 8 he was sent out as reserve replacement for graveson and on a t/r  apparently this is not permitted and he returned to the pits to put hes standard yellow helmet on  He didn't return to the pits as he would have been excluded for doing so. He had his helmet colour changed on the back straight.
stevebrum
Can't work out if we were that good or the Rebels that poor. They had their moments tho. Tungate held 2nd well in heat 1. The reserves gated for a potentially maximum heat until Graversen threw away 2nd with a poor 3rd bend on the 2nd lap. Hougaard got outsmarted on the final bend in the 3rd. Starke had a couple of great races. Besides fair effort from Allen it was a tough night for the travelling Rebel army fans. Probably the lowest crowd of the season for the weakest opposition so far. Track rode a lot slicker I thought and times not as quick as usual. Too much of a dominant show for the league leaders who generally controlled proceedings limiting the visitors to pick up the odd scrap. Schlein epitomised that with Starke in heat 12 as he knew precisely where he would be attacking from. Roo boy run straight to the fence on the back straight to kill all his speed. Greaves had enough in the tank to stay ahead of him for 4 laps. Some dodgy decisions by May for the Rebels - the TR for Allen in heat 8 was a schoolboy error and Hougaard on a TR against Fred? Odd. Â Â WOLVES Â FRED - untouchable. In a different league this season. 5/5 KYLE - did his job perfectly. Decent effort. 3.5/5 ROO - dropped a single point to Tungate in heat 5. Steady and attacking in equal measures. 4.5/5 JACOB - first 5 ride 5 wins this season, ignoring the paid variety. Quickest Wolves rider tonight. 5/5 MOTM SAM - another solid night. 3.5/5 MARK - lowest scorer but had very little to beat as had Graversen 3 times. Beat Rebels number one. 2.5/5 NATHAN - our best reserve. Scored in each heat. Looking more stable and prepared to attack. Getting better each time I see him. 3.5/5 Â REBELS Â Tungate - started off okay ended poorly. 2/5 Starke - sounded awful in his first couple of heats then looked awfully quick. Until Heat 15. 2.5/5 RR - scored zero. Wright would have got 3 or 4. Hougaard - this was an average Monmore showing from the Dane. 2/5 Grajczonek - thought he had a bit of fight in heat 4, I was wrong. 0.5/5 Allen - fair first effort at the Green. Certainly had his moments. 2.5/5 Graversen - dreadful, and that's being kind.0/5 Edited May 8, 2017 by stevebrum
Aroundtheboards
Are they being entertained at Somerset though, for years Lynn won nothing but had great racing to enjoy and lots of last heat deciders etc, that was good enough for the Lynn faithful then... I bet the Wolves fans aren't particularly being entertained by their huge wins apart from winning.... That is the one saving grace, we are being treated to good racing at home !
RyeHouseExile
Never any chance of winning operating r/r for a heat leader. My only criticism of Wolverhampton is the state of the track in the latter heats with all the dirt ending up under the fence and a gap in the shale on the first bend.Daft using TR against Freddie ! SPEEDY69
I'm surprised Somerset haven't had more of these defeats. Tungate as a number 1 was never going to work.

Forknights
A total professional performance by the Wolves riders, they out gated out smarted the Somerset riders in every heat. and I cannot believe that the 4 riders I watched every week for Somerset last season looked more like Bambi on ice, totally out of there comfort zone, and never on the pace. Â And like I said a couple of weeks ago after the reserves got lots of stick, although there has been a change to one of them obviously, but I thought young Greaves more than played his part and pleased for him. Rory has fitted in well and rides well with Jacob, top pairing, Â Great to catch up with some of my good friends from Somerset, and a real big thumbs up to them for flying the flags, and sticking there fingers up to the management Long may it continue guys, you know you've got my support. Â Such a shame though that some people really don't give a "hoot"

There's also the average factor, we don't want them sky high !
SteveZodiac
Â Â Â Cheers guys, wasn't aware of that, thought redandyellow's post was about two separate things and not all tactical related. Can't really see a good reason why it's not allowed, Â The rule says that TR has to be for a programmed rider - hence wasn't allowed as he was a reserve replacement. Â The TR ride is allowed for R/R as the R/R is a programmed ride in the meeting. Â Â Wins like this are okay on the occasional basis, but not regularly. There's also the average factor, we don't want them sky high ! Â Maybe they are increasing the averages to ensure they can fit Woffinden in for the play offs

Somersets first ever season in the top flight was always going to be a massive step. Getting battered by the champs away no disgrace. Starting without Charlie and having a reserve who has never seen the track was also not ideal. Wolves doing ok at the moment but it was not that long ago they were propping up the league themselves. Bad luck against Lynn and Swindon have cost us 6 points, let's hope we can turn this around later. We do need a change, it will prob be Jan I would think to allow Starke and Allen to be reserves. Starke recorded two heat wins last night and was described as being quick by a fellow Wolves poster. My spies tell me his machinery is the problem, get that sorted and the Rebels will be very strong in this position. For what it's worth I do not think we will finish bottom, we need the bounce of the ball at home for a change and we will be ok.

topaz325
Somerset were very competitive at Belle Vue recently and won the meet but maybe caught the Aces on a off day having said that it was a afternoon meeting and the track dried out very quickly plus the fact that the Belle Vue track is not dissimilar to Somersets. Tungate that day was awesome, I think the Rebels will be ok.... might need one minor change?
