Ipswich Witches Vs Glasgow Tigers Thurs 4th May C1

Recommended Posts

On reflection a win is a win and 3 more points on the board, I must admit it was a tad disappointing to let Glasgow take a point but they rode well enough to earn it.

I doubt Danny and Rory will have such poor nights too many times at home this season.

Effectively on the night we had three riders who are all pretty inexperienced on the new Foxhall track (Kyle, Justin and James) so I'll take the win gratefully.

Hats off and thanks to James Shanes though, definitely a star of the future. I like many have said say 'sign him up' even if he does have to miss some meetings due to other commitments.

On the social side it was nice to have a drink in the bar after with Paulco and Willie and get to know a couple of our friends from North of the border.

Cheers guys!

Well they don't make very good agents if they keep getting them in😉

Put it through there expense account always a method to there madness.

Gutted that Ippo threw a point to the Weegies at the close.

But I suppose without Shanes it could have been 3 or 4 points so it could have been worse.

I fully expected an Ippo win by 20 points or more but (through gritted teeth) the Weegie heat leaders all had good rides and Perry did better than I expected.

Thought Dan the Wee Man would have scored better - started off with a good ride to keep Kingy behind him but didn't do too much after that.

And of course the all conquering Ippo heat leaders Came and Saw but didn't Conquer. (Thanks Julius!!)

Shanes is certainly a wanted man at the moment - if only the Weeg hadn't changed to a Saturday maybe they could have nicked him?

Nice to see Sedgy ride the way I expected albeit only in his 4th ride. Nobody told him the track had been changed.

Surprised at how well Mr. Heeps is going at the moment - the break from one of his 2016 sponsors is obviously not doing him any harm.

Also good to finally meet the leg-ends that are Paulco and Willie - hope you are still on schedule guys!!

Well done lads, good to get a point. Just a pity no home meeting this week to keep momentum going. Also we have a good weather forecast 😞

Definitely not good for momentum, we also have two blank home fixtures in June which doesnt help.

Thanks to everyone who made it an enjoyable evening at Foxhall . Okay the meeting was a bit gate and go , but it was always relatively close and that kept it interesting . I'd have taken a point before the meeting , but I thought the chances of that had gone after heat 13 , but heat 15 was the best race of the evening and silenced the massif round about me :P .

And Mr Long , surely my accent isn't too difficult to understand

Very big thanks to Super Blue for the lift back to the B and B , and to all the lads ( and lassie ) who came in the bar for a drink after the meeting .

Another cracking visit to Ipswich done and dusted .

And I thought Willie was the one that may just pass out and sleep in my car rather than go into the b&b 😆😉 (SB had left an hour before)

The bar was like a united nations summit with Scotsman representing the East side and Baldy from Essex as well as us locals. Wish I had a set of those translating headphones for Willie 😉

Got to admire your dedication in following your team. The least your hosts can do is make you welcome, buy you a drink and give you a lift at the end of the night 👏👍

Top night all round

August 4th then  . Was a good night though . Pushing Crazysue in her wheelchair from the Golf to the track was hilarious , though a bit scary as the pavement shrunk in width as we got closer to the driveway leading to the track . Willie done his traffic cop act stopping the traffic :lol:
