Tai Massive Project

Recommended Posts

Can't recall when it was exactly but this all started when there was a kerfuffle between Woffinden and the BSPA about a place in a British semi final at Sheffield a few years back before he was World Champion. They wouldn't 'help' him and the relationship has gone downhill since. And for the record I'm not a fan :P

So the massive project is that he has got his wife pregnant? Really? Thought that was the norm. Hardly a massive project. Building a house is a massive project. Starting a company from scratch and employing 100 people is a massive project. Having a baby is not. It happens to most people, from those on the dole to those with plenty of money.

The result is sleepless nights and lots of joy, but massive project it is not. Its just life. If you stick your dinkle in a certain place enough times that is what happens.

What a let down. Thought he had done a deal with the bspa, and was finally going to give something back to the country that gave him the break in the first place, by helping Neil Vatcher train up the kids. But then it was obvious it was nothing to do with anyone else. With Woffinden it seems its always woffy woffy woffy.

Pathetic post just to have another dig.

Having children is the biggest project anyone will undertake in life. And you compare that to a training scheme in a minority sport in second rate country (in terms of the sport)? Get a grip man.

On a personal level I'm not much of a fan although Tai seems to have matured a bit the past couple of years.

However as a rider I think he has all the qualities to be one of the all time greats and clearly has the ability to make the most of the equipment and people he has around him. If I had a lad riding Speedway these days I would welcome the opportunity for him to be taught by Tai, there's lots of kids who can get around a track on a bike OK but very few know how to organise the rest of it.

The current UK system appears to be a big improvement and kids are being far better educated on all aspects than previously. For most though it's still dad or Uncle Joe offering advice and help as best they can the majority of the time, whether they actually know what they are doing or not. It will take time for the training to take proper effect so the more good quality instruction that is available the better. Instruction and seat time is where the Aussies, Danes etc are so much better off than the Brits.

Massive project having a kid? I would say it's easily the biggest life long commitment most of us will ever make so not an unreasonable statement.

I did like Peter Craven TWK! I don't know why Phillipsr has edited the quote to make it appear to the contrary? I am not very pleased about this.

Oh no Gustix and TWR are offended how will i get through my day

You have to ask yourself - would you in his position?

Your "next to nowt" comment says it all really.

I'll be 100% honest and say ,I would always put my country and the fans that supported me on the way up first , unfortunately there are too many fans and promotions who dont have enough principle to tell him where to get off on his way back down , Woffinden being Australian of course accounts for a large percentage of his selfishness , and spoilt brat attitude , just another carpet bagging Aussie ,

I@m happy he has done no deal with the BSPA. we dont want him interfering in British speedway ,MDL and Vatchers obsession with under 16s will see a new generation ,without any input (and invariably take out ) from Woffinden

Is Tai's massive project nothing to do with speedway then? If it is his successful; impregnation of his wife then - Congratulations to them both for their Team Riding efforts BUT I was foolishly getting excited about his efforts in another direction - helping young British speedway riders improve to the level he has reached ( if they can ). Gosh what a let down! For two healthy young people getting pregnant is not usually such a Massive Project - unless of course Young Woffy Junior is to follow in the tyre treads of his/ her Dad. Amazing that in 2040 ( for those that live that long ) we may have the first female World Speedway Champion! Toffy Woffy Woffy indeed!

Agree but most people don't say I've got a massive project and then days later say about the baby. I really do not like announcements about making announcements. The Poole promotion do it all the time and it is really annoying!

Anyway all the best to Tai and his 'massive project' ! :D

It's hardly earth shattering news though is it? I know Tai's been wrapped up in his own little bubble for a number of years, but perhaps someone needs to point out to him that it's all been done before and indeed some people even manage to have two or more children whilst maintaining their day to day life, or does he believe he was found under a bush?

'Marginally more entertaining than Hancock'.

I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt.I am certainly(up til now)no fan of Tai,but those races are fantastic.Problem for me is i have lost a lot of interest over the past few years, coinciding with Tais rise and the trouble is whenever i have looked in i have never seen anything like those heats.I have seen him make some great cut backs on the first bend.Very good racing brain and great track craft, but never really saw him as a racer. That video has changed my opinion.Maybe others have had the same experience i don't know, but thanks for putting that link up :t:

If you were hoping that \Tai's massive project was going to be anything other than something for himself then I'm afraid you will continue to be dissapointed , British speedway is a pretty sick animal , but i don't think the promoters of it would be prepared to hand it over along with their cheque books for woffinden to do as he pleases with just yet ,,

Actually it is.

Perhaps someone should point out to you that having your first child is one of the biggest experiences you will ever have in life and the majority of people celebrate that fact on social media these days.

The fact that people have to try and twist it to their petty vendetta's is really quite sad.

So we have had 11 pages with over 150 replies with posters still guessing what the "Massive Project" is. Is it his autobiography, his offer to help the youngsters reach the next levels of their careers or the pregnancy news.

The guy is a master of his craft that has reached the top of his craft not once but twice. It does not matter what people look like it is what they are good at & he IS good at being a speedway rider.

Are you good at your craft? Do you pass on your knowledge to people that want to learn? Do you have a family & remember what it was like to have your first born?

The idea that a former British world champion that the vast majority of young riders would look up to and admire has nothing to offer in a coaching capacity is quite frankly laughable. I can understand why people aren't keen on him and I don't agree with him not riding in the British Championship or for Team GB but he would have lots to offer youngsters if it ever happened.

And he was born in the UK to British parents, so he is British.

The worry is that Tai will encourage our good riders to forsake British speedway when and if they get to a certain level...... like he has...

But yes of course if he tells his story on how he got to the top level to our boys then of course they can learn from that.... probably.

Reading Craig Cooks interview in the SGP website he says he's had several call from Poland -including the top league but won't give up his Brotish commitments for it- which a lot of people have been screaming at him for years for not doing- dammned if you dammed if you don't in this sport these days!

He's been let down a couple of times in Poland, even though he's done pretty well in challenge matches and open meetings.

Great news, especially after the dozens of riders that came through his training school last year. Oh wait...

I couldn't be bothered reading this thread after this post, the 3rd post, as it was a criticism.

Why do we continually get on the back of Woffy ? Pathetic.
