Berwick V Ipswich Championship 29/4/17

Recommended Posts

Its up to the club to inform us of any team changes or riders being unavailable, so far they haven't done that regarding Gappmaier, in fact from today's press release on the web-site they name him in out 1-7 for tonight. Pretty shabby.

Think it listed on the club web newspage. Blow to Berwick but suppose Gappmaier has little choice but go? No doubt Bandits were trying everything to get him in this meeting and only miss tomorrow. Dont think those Euro meetings get a guest or RR facility

Gappmaier will be a massive miss would probably have got double figures tonight again. Not sure how it affect his average as he will have had 3H 3A with missing this weekends meetings.

It is my understanding, that the club was made aware of this meeting in Austria when Danny signed for Berwick, so no excuses needed.

but a riders average has never been re-assessed before 4h 4a?

This is exactly why rule is in place about MC giving a new assessed average for any riders not having completed required matches when whole team is redeclared. Virtually guaranteed he will be put on higher average!

absolutely - and it may not this time.

If not though Berwick could effectively build to a new team total of 44 rather than 42.

I don't think they making excuses mate just looking if way he could ride tonight.

Worded that badly, the club does not need an excuse and nor does Danny, I think that is what I was trying to say, circumstances dictate the outcome of tonight. Perhaps the club via it's web site should have clarified the situation much earlier, too late now we are where we are.

according to Lucifer Sam it's 40 anyways and not 42?

initial declarations and changes prior to first set of averages are to 40.

Once new averages earned/awarded then 42 for any redeclarations (or like for like only)

No, it's been clarified that it's 40.00 for the whole season in the Championship.

All the best

Rob

Thanks for the clarification.

So the regs copy/pasted on other threads are wrong?

Or has there been an amendment post season start?

Either way it would then mean Berwick could build to 42 instead of 40 - 2 points higher so same difference.

From the Speedway Control Bureau website:

Supplementary Regulation - SR1705

Classification of Speedway Regulation Art 18.7.3

Team Composition

18.7.3 For the SGB Premiership ONLY, it must not exceed 42.00 points in any declaration following the issue of established CMA for 2017, except where the MA of the introduced rider is equal to, or lower than the rider being replaced.

Any re-declaration must include 2 riders who have competed or are eligible to enter the National Development League (Conference League).

It would seem three words (those in bold) were missing from the original rulebook. When Scunny redeclared, it could only be back up to 40.00, not 42.00.

All the best

Rob
