Edinburgh V Sheffield Koc 28/4/17 @7.30pm

I'm sure Sheffield would be happy with that with Josh and Bjerre missing and Rob far from fit.

I'm sure we are! What's Rob Branfords' injury? We noticed he didn't ride as well last Thursday against P'boro as he had before (apart from the first running of heat 14 where he was well away before it was stopped!)

Just like last season Sheffield "select" doing you proud.

do i detect a hint of "sour grapes" in your comment.hardley a "select" side with just one change to the team.lets be honest you didn't expect sheffield to come up and run you as close as they did and if the monarchs riders had been up for it when the track was on the greasy side for the first four or five races then your lead could have been greater but no worries because, barring any injuries, our "own" team will get the job done in the second leg.

Rob hurt his shoulder at Rye House , it's been a problem since he damaged the rotor cuff while at Edinburgh and he re aggravated it ,but he plans to just ride though the pain at this stage.

You could be right I'm not a Monarchs fan but I am jealous as my Team can't get 43 pts at home never mind away.!! Edited by Fromafar

Thanks Junior fan. Sounds like if it's a long term injury he might eventually require surgery, still if he's riding through the pain he's still doing a good job for the team. One tough b@stard in my view, I certainly couldn't do it!

Very much a meeting of two halves. Monarchs left for dead from the tapes early on but managed to claw themselves back into it.

Impressed with my first sighting of Josh Pickering. Like all Monarchs struggled early on but then produced two storming rides to help turn the tide. On the other hand Sam Masters looked unbeatable early on but faded.

For Sheffield, I've never seen Kyle Howarth ride so well. Seems to have pushed on this season. Sure they would have taken a 4pt defeat if offered at the start of the night, but they should feel disappointed after letting a 10pt lead slip. Todd Kurtz never looked happy and they needed him to step up in Heat 14 and he didn't.

Overall, enjoyed my visit. Stadium has clearly seen better days and I know you can only work with the resources available but the viewing isn't great. Thought the 3rd bend was best but moved as the rain got heavier to the main stand. Difficult to get a good view of the racing from there as obviously best positions already taken. However, loved the bar area decked out with all the memorabilia. Made it feel like a proper base for supporters, something sadly lacking at Lynn.

That's the one thing Armadale has better than Glasgow , a proper bar where supporters can enjoy a drink and chat with the opposition fans about speedway . That Tigers den thing is a café with folk coming and going and you cant get comfortable there . The memorabilia in the Armadale bar is impressive , apart from one certain item haha
