waytogo28
When Buster was made chairman of the BSPA, I thought he was the one chap who could actually turn this sport around. But it appears he has made little difference. The sport is crying out for some sort of structure, so the fans will benefit. Probably the BSPA think the fans are the least consideration. They fail to realise that once the fans go the sport is no more.. The sport should be building bridges to encourage the supporters back, not arranging fixtures knowing SGP riders are unavailable. Having stepped up to the big league, the fans at Somerset would have pencilled in dates to see these star performers, yet a lack of thought in the fixture arranging has prevented this. This is no disrespect to Cookie but he hasn't been a World Champion. I am in no doubt the absence of Holder will effect the gate, and that should have been the first priority. You cant brush these issues under the carpet, unless problems get sorted they never go away. We want the leagues to run on specific nights, We don't want DU riders missing meeting through fixture clashes; We don't want Guests and R/R, . Surely that can't be that difficult.... Me too GRW123! I was chuffed that someone like Buster gained some major influence on the way speedway is going via his chairmanship of the BSPA but I also feel that unless there are some major gains via the Gerhard engine initiative in the next couple of years - nothing much very progressive will have happened. But fan satisfaction / retention and involvement should have been his / their top priority and it seems as if it is not. Last throw of the dice for the sport? Cliffeboy
Last seasons fast starting Tungate would have dealt with Cookie, not so sure with this seasons version though. Hopefully this will be the meeting we see the proper Rohan, good luck to him and all the Rebs.
Gresham
Funny how everyone enjoys their Speedway differently. I wasn't fussed about seeing Holder blast around the OTA...but I'm gutted I'm going to miss Cookie and Shanes racing there tonight. Having the 'best in the world' win every race emphatically by a country mile is not entertaining imo...if up against similar riders of GP standard, then it can be. I'd much rather watch 'middle order' type riders, like Wrighty, Allen and Starke giving it a go, and getting in the mix with similar standard opposition. Cookie is great to watch around the OTA...been to all the meeting so far this season, and they have all been excellent quality racing. Should be a cracker tonight without Holder...shame I can't make it. COYR Rebels :-)
Bagpuss
Win every race emphatically by a country mile?! Have you seen Holders scores this season
mrss
If the Stars want to be contenders for titles this year Somerset is a track they should be winning away at. Anything less than a win tonight won't be good enough. Can't see Stars getting any league points Monday night.
Panthers89
Why let Porsing have 4 rides when Huckenbreck seems to dialled in? Surely Porsing had to be replaced in heat 9? AWFUL decision!
mrss
That's because Dale Allit hasn't got any idea about team management .

Panthers89
That's because Dale Allit hasn't got any idea about team management . Clueless, can even make a case for letting Rose have 4 rides. Must feel good for the stars, having a number 1 you can rely on Edited April 28, 2017 by Panthers89

stevehone
wasn't at the meeting to see if decisions are right or wrong, but I'd certainly trust Dale to know whats going on
mdmc82
Great from King's Lynn to have a terrible score from guest Shanes and nothing from Porsing and still get an away win. Worrying times for Somerset although they always looked weak. Tungate was a good EL reserve but crazy to have him as a number 1

Flappy
Panthers appear to have a different Paul Starke compared to the one riding for Somerset currently.

tellboy
Good result for the Stars, but imo it was against probably the weakest team in the league at the moment. I also think Huckenbeck could have been used more.I wasn't there but i feel when your reserve is pulling in some big points you have to utilise him more.Ok you don't use him more if the whole team had scored points but on this occassion Porsing hadn't.Somerset didn't think twice by replacing their number one with a reserve tonight. Not sure whether Dale would have it in him to do this, time will tell i suppose.

Najjer
Like has already been said, the Kings Lynn manager made a right hash allowing Porsing to have 4 rides as he was beyond terrible. The worst rider on show, just shading that award from Rohan Tungate. It's worth noting that the Lynn manager kept Shanes in heat 14 for a match winning pass on Jake Allen out of nowhere. It's another loss that's hard to understand how we've lost, much like last week against Swindon. Felt like we were always in control but just lost out when it mattered. Congratulations to Kings Lynn but they really weren't that good. Craig Cook was a superb guest and backed up superbly by Lambert. Probably outscored what Holder would of done and full on effort, always a joy to watch is Cookie. Rose solid but not spectacular. Batchelor hot and cold. Huckenbeck seemed to be enjoying himself out on the wide line but Porsing was absolutely dreadful. For Somerset yet again Josh was outstanding, pretty much carrying on from last week but he had little to no back up. Charles done his job as did Graversen who was right in the mix again so fair play to him. However the rest were disappointing. The less said about Tungate the better on tonight's performance. It's an absolute disaster after last season just how he was to see how poor he was tonight. Not only is he riding an absolute lawnmower but he isn't making any starts, on the wrong lines and making so many mistakes. Even if he went to reserve it's hard to imagine him scoring anything. You have to feel he is under even more immense pressure along with Paul Starke to be given the boot right now. We are likely to get a hiding like most teams will at Belle Vue on Monday, but we can't afford another loss next Friday against a really strong Wolves side. The big crowds we've been getting will soon drop off if we do.
