Wolves V King's Lynn 1st May 6.00 Pm

The SEC is a FIM Europe competition.

But doesn't have official FIM status, which means it is not recognised as 'superceding' domestic League racing in the Speedway calendar...

Hence the BSPA don't recognise what is in effect a glorified international individual challenge match, and the fact the FIM don't censure them for doing so shows that they are quite within their rights to make this decision....

Whether they should or shouldn't recognise the competition is open to debate, given the opportunity it provides for British riders on the international stage, however the fact they don't means that all riders should either accept this or forego a British team place..

Its the 'tail wagging the dog', (again), and this needs to stop if British Speedway is to regain its lost credibilty and make its competitions actually worth winning, (and therefore attending)...

I note they don't run these meetings on Sundays head to head with the Polish leagues. .

I wonder why.....

Sorry but I have to come back on this

FIM Europe is a subsidiary of the FIM(worldwide) and the meetings they run are 1 official 2 FIM meetings.

It is a long standing point of view held by the BSPA that these meetings are just one step to far in regards to the British fixture list.- this stance could have been challenged by the SCB/ACU over recent years.

I have noticed this change in the rule book for this season

Fixtures shall take priority as follows:

FIM SGP, SWC, SGP Qualifying Meetings, FIM U21 World Speedway Championship

Meetings, FIM Europe U21 Championship, British Championships (Senior, Junior), BSPA

Shared and Fee Events, Official Competitions: 1. SGB Premiership; 2. SGB Championship;

3. National Development League.

NB. Non-Official Competitions have no priority over any of the above.

As far as my opinion is I don`t disagree with the BSPA`s stance.

I have just posted the line-up for the meeting Thorssell was scheduled to take part in and his name is missing and his place taken by the Swedish reserve nomination. so he could have pulled out and is riding in the UK instead.

FIM Europe have been given more political clout by the FIM as there was a danger with SEC (and whatever that pairs thing is called this week), of there being a split which would have impacted the GP's. (The FIM Holy Grail)..

So to appease the Polish Company who run it, and prevent a possible rider exodus to the SEC rather than the GP, (eg Emil) The SEC has been granted what could be described as 'unofficial official'😁 status, by the FIM..

The BSPA though can and do have the right to not recognise it, unlike 'official official'😁 FIM meetings, which they must bow down to and give priority...

So what is the thinking behind the BSPA granting the FIM Europe U21 championship official status ??

Always good to see just how your team win or lose.... we're bringing a supporters club minibus to this so looking forward to it ✌️

I remember being on a supporters min-bus to King's Lynn in the early 70's. My god that was a tortuous journey with the A47 (Hinckley, Leicester, King's Lynn) route. Over time the road has been straightened, and also had the A14 added to help matters.

What time you setting out ?

Will be my first visit to Wolves on Monday too. KLSSC are running a minibus so I thought why not go. Saves me or my dad driving for once.

P.S. we still have three seats left for anyone who wants to go. £15 per seat for KLSSC members and £18 per seat for non members. Please message either myself or Trees or go to our social media outlets on Twitter and Facebook.
