pete cc
Let me be the first to congratulate you on your efforts Laurence.Pity it has to be on a youth speedway page. Some of those listed are far from being a youth. 😉
arnieg
Without the older amateurs there wouldn't be enough riders to keep the competition going. (Look at how often r/r is used in MDL matches) Without the development leagues there would be less meetings for younger starters. So it's a win/win - older riders get their fun and younger riders get more varied opportunities to learn. More and more riders are participating in the British Youth Championships, and both the NL and CL are now providing plenty of opportunities for younger riders. Let's be positive.
Sings4Speedway
Great to see riders from the development leagues improving but equally provides a headache for those organising the teams? Reading only have 3 eligible riders from their squad as i see it (providing all are available) and Kent will have to run without Cousins i suspect (again if the other members are all available) Reading : Luke Harris - NL Average now 6.00 ineligable? Kyle Roberts - Declared NL 1-7 Nick Laurence - Declared NL 1-7 William O’Keefe Niall Strudwick - taking a break from Speedway (Drew Kemp)///not eligible till August KENT Bradley Andrews - Declared NL 1-7 Anders Rowe - Declared NL 1-7 Alex Spooner Jamie Cousins - Declared NL 1-7 James Laker

arnieg
O'Keefe riegularly riding for Buxton. Neither of these teams is really playing the game? Absolute tosh When these two teams were named only Bradley Andrews and Luke Harris had NL places.
*JJ
Absolute tosh When these two teams were named only Bradley Andrews and Luke Harris had NL places. Who is talking rubbish now? These teams should not be composed of NL riders: are there no beginners in the south?
skydog
At the start of the season each team is allowed 1 nl rider up to 4.00 ave. He is eligible for the season, ie Luke Harris, who averaged under 4 and was dropped by Eastbourne last year... when Reading approached him late last year he was very much a rider who could have gone either way and needed rides. Also allowed is a 3.00 nl rider, ie Nick Laurence. Kyle Roberts also agreed to ride late last year and there was no sign of him getting an NL place until Brum signed him 3 weeks ago. You're correct, the 3 can't be used in the same line up. William O'Keefe was actively looking for more rides to go alongside mdl. He is only getting guest rides in nl and we didn't know he would get so many. It is about development and the Reading team is full of riders with real prospects of developing, but admittedly we do need to be competitive if we are to get the diminishing number of Reading fans to take this to their hearts.
