Wolves V Belle Vue 18/4/17

Recommended Posts

Apart from 2 races, it was poor. I worry for the standard some people expect if they think that was good racing.

A lot of BV fans have really high expectations now, given what is put in front of them every Friday.

A rider moving of the inside to allow a rider to pass on the inside isn't a pass. Away riders will never learn. Always ride wide allowing wolves riders through

Only good pass was thorsell round sedgman I think it was a d cook on masters in heat 13 to allow fricke through

It's well prepared wolves, but it's a specialist track. Most passes are the direct consequence of a mistake. I didn't enjoy that one bit tonight. It was crap.

I've just got home and put the PC DVD in to watch some proper racing.

It's once 4 home and 4 away have been completed. Not 3/3.

Is that 4 home and 4away for the team or for each individual rider ?

We are led to believe the Teams total will be recalculated to max 42 pts from that some point in May.

For this to be fair, all teams will have to be amended from a said DATE and each club have the same option of rider replacement.

Surely a riders CMA will be amended from this point regardless of the number of meetings he has actually rode.

These are just a few issues I'm trying to understand...

Edit to say: Well done on an impressive home win last night, I thought it would be tight, Freddie and Thorsell were no doubt inspirational

Racing wise it was one of the poorer meetings I have seen at Monmore, however the closeness of the scores kept the meeting interesting.

Thought the crowd looked thin.

Much speculation about Skornicki's form, while Bewley continues to impress.

It's an interesting question.

If my calculations are correct (they frequently aren't) teams will reach their 4 home and 4 away on the following dates

1st May - Belle Vue, Somerset

10th May - Poole

18th May - Swindon

19th May - Rye House

20th May - Leicester, Wolves

24th May - Kings Lynn

The benefit is with the later dates as they can still be making changes within the 50 point limit.

This doesn't (obviously) cater for rain off's and/or rearranged fixtures.

And what are these statuses and comments

Dean Felton, Adam's mechanic posted "Well that's that then" followed by a spanner emoticon and a sad face.

Could mean either Adam is dropped.. or Adam has given Dean the boot.

Or Dean has broken his favourite spanner.

Yes, Belle Vue's new track is great - but all this Belle Vue supporters going on about "our track is better than your track nur nur nur" is getting a bit tedious, particularly as they has the worst track in the league for about 20 years beforehand.

I would take a point at Monmore anytime so not overly disappointed as the Wolves top four are a match for anyone round their home track. If they can sort out Skornicki and the reserve positions I would still expect them to be up there come the end of the season shootout. Team building for the new season is a bit of a joke nowadays as teams build with one eye on the first set of averages in order to then strengthen up, at one time clubs built to a strength for the season without the need for all the swapping and changing. Suppose that's the name of the game nowadays though.

Agree with you on that, going from Hyde Road to Kirky Lane we know better than most what losing a great track and having to put up with a poor replacement is all about. I think the difference between the dog track and the new track has reignited peoples passion for real racing but it dosent make every other track all of a sudden not fit for purpose. When Hyde Road was in its pomp I never remember any comparisons with other tracks around the country slating the standard of racing.

Not sure that Poole complete 4 qualifying home league meetings til 7th June, Baz.

That all sounds a little sour. I don't think anyone has suggested that.

The NSS is probably in the 5 top tracks in the world. This isn't about my daddy will beat your daddy, it's about using it as an example to move the sport forward in the UK.

Went last night and thought the racing wasn't very good at all. Feel as a regular at the NSS we have been spoiled so expectations as to what good racing is are raised. Also, for some there is a natural reaction for the years of criticism being directed to the Kirky Lane track and having to take it. It will pass. Did think however, that the crowd was small for what had been billed as an attractive fixture.
