Shadders
Disappointed to lose tonight especially after an 8 point lead. The edge was taken off a bit by the fact there was some really good racing tonight. Gappmaier and Perry in heat 2, Doolan's third to first in heat 3, Summers' cut back to drive up inside Vissing, heat 14 between Gappmaier and Lunna, all great to watch. R/R certainly worked for Berwick tonight and Gappmaier had his best meeting of the season, really impressed with him tonight. If I was a neutral tonight I would have come away pretty impressed with that tonight. Good crowd, plenty of close, hard racing, passing in most races, 21 heats including 6 junior races in a touch over 2 hours on a well-prepared track. I have to say the track preparation has been far better this season. Even the junior meeting provided some good racing, the young lad McGurk gong from last to second off the last bend. But there was a lot of talk around tonight of fans won't be coming back because of results. That's their choice of course. Each to their own. Will be interesting to see the crowd level next week. Speedway fans are a strange breed. If Berwick were winning at home every week, but the racing was boring and processional you'd still have folk complaining.

I just think that a lot of things people have asked for, faster paced meetings, better racing, we are getting this season so far, but the results aren't there.

The make up of the Bandits side means you're always gonna struggle towards the end of meetings. Not surprised they've started poorly
Fromafar
Lewis Bridger has found out that if you can't gate in Premiership (supposed lower tier) you won't win races at any track (so far).
Bandit59
Some good racing tonight thought young Dany was the standout closely followed by Kev,but history keeps repeating itself same as last season build up a lead then after the interval throw it away.
coolcol
How long until we get the generic posts saying despite the result it was a great meeting from Big Eddie and the like  Nine meetings so far and one win says it all. Mmmmmmm
Paulco
Just home , still buzzing . What an atmosphere on the back straight tonight . Don't know what Stewart said to the lads during the interval , but it worked . Aaron was immense in heat 11 and him and Richie swung the meeting in our favour in a brilliant heat 13 . Heat 14 was a brilliant race , was really impressed with Gappmaier tonight . And our main man completed the comeback by winning heat 15 and the captain securing the vital third place . After heat 10 I couldn't see us getting a point nevermind winning , but the comeback was astonishing .
damosuzuki
What a meeting, yes Berwick blew it to an extent but Gappmeir was fantastic entertainment, doolan was good, you had R/R and a guest.... Folk saying they won't be back must be off their head. Well run, great atmosphere and so much to be positive about.

I could see you getting 3, it happens every season, Berwick are major bottlers at home under pressure, you had 3 lads capable of beating the home riders in heats 11, 12, 13 and 15 and so I knew it was coming with heat advantages in 13 and 15 almost guarenteed with the way they was gating and getting to the fence. DSC67
We don't do the business in the big heats it's as simple as that , added to the that Liam was a passenger last night and when you're already a rider down you can't afford that . On the plus side both Kevin and Claus seem to have found some speed art last . There was a lot of good racing last night just a shame about the result

There was a lot of good racing last night just a shame about the result Liam Carr was carrying an injury from Fridays meeting at Edinburgh I'm told. Nevertheless, nice lad, but out of his depth away from reserve. Need to find a permanent replacement for Blacklock if he's not to return soon. Even if he does I'm not convinced he's at the standard required. He does seem to fall a lot. Must be better out there. Can't afford to carry anyone if you have a side without any big hitters Edited April 16, 2017 by Shads
screm
I posted yesterday I hoped for good racing, close score and value for money, we certainly had that last night. I find it amazing to hear therefore there may some not going back as if thats the level of speedway we will see each week I will be back week in week out, and the meeting was run at a good pace, so well done to all. With 5Hts to go it was looking likely that Berwick would pull off a shock win, sadly for them Glasgow pulled off an amazing comeback lead by their top three who by that stage were all winning races. Summers certainly put to bed the argument that he cant win races at Berwick and his overtake of Vissing in Ht11 got any comeback off to a flying start. So credit to Glasgow on their win. Losing the meeting from a winning position will be a sore one for the Berwick management but when your No1 doesn't win a race all night and your carrying a rider, the rest of the team have a job on to win a meeting. Bridger does seem quick enough but isn't making starts and you cant give the Glasgow heat leaders a head start. Carr is struggling, maybe last night he was still suffering from his crash at Edinburgh which affected his score, but as has already been mentioned we cant carry passengers, so there may be a decision looming should his scoring continue. Same could be said for Bridger as in tight meetings your looking for your top three, and No1 especially, to win races and his inclusion in Ht15 was baffling as there was nothing to suggest he was likely to go out and win a race that would've given Berwick a draw at least.

screm
Sadly 2 pointers not there. Good idea but it don't work  Berwick`s original choice at No7 was Luke Chessell, sadly he chose not to take his position in the team. By then virtually all the other clubs had signed their No7`s leaving Berwick a limited choice. That said Ryan Blacklock has let nobody down with his efforts and hopefully he will be back soon.
