Swindon Vs Rye House

Recommended Posts

I see Peterborough are also riding thurs so not sure who Bradley is an asset of and who gets priority, if he is at Swindon we should win on the night, if not we should still win on aggregate.

Bradley is riding for us from the horses mouth

Pretty confident we will win on night

Are Branford/Perks available.?

Yes, according to the Rye House Website.

Didnt expect Branford to be available, as he is a Redcar asset, so, according to the previous rules at least , his current Championship club, Sheffield, should have priority when fixtures clash.

No idea who Ellis Perks is an asset of.

I thnk Bradley is an asset of Somerset, so Swindon would have priority over Peterborough.

It's speedway though, so could all change tomorrow !

Narrow win for Swindon on aggregate. Kennett, Nicholls, Bomber, Watto like Blunsdon. Will many Herts Yids and Gooners be making the trip west?Friendly welcome assured from the Back Straight Bog Crew, but use the facilities at your own risk. Hoping for decent size crowd again.

Don't like this doubling-up nonsense.

Rob will be riding for Rye House, he is owned by Redcar but according to the 2nd priority (3) below, as he rode for Rye House last year we have priority. Also after last Saturdays debacle it states on the Rye website today "THE BMR Rockets have been boosted by an SCB verdict that they will have priority for the services of Rob Branford when fixture clashes arise with his SGB Championship club Sheffield.

A Rider must be released to take part in a higher priority Meeting, unless he is “Doubling Up”, in which case the priority for a clash of Official Meetings is as follows: -

1) The Original Fixture if there is a clash with a re-arranged Fixture

2)1st priority to the owner of the rider

3) 2nd priority to the previous season club

4) 3rd priority to the league in which the owner club is a member.

Ellis Perks is owned by Poole but he will be riding on Thursday so Rye should have their full 1 - 7 team, fingers crossed, as who knows in Speedway and I think us fans of all teams are getting a bit fed up with rules being mis-understood or ignored :D

I'm thinking of coming from Rye on Thursday and bit of advise re stadium please would be appreciated as its years since I've visited Blunsdon. Is there any seating, do I need to bring a chair or will a cushion on a bench do, us oldies like a bit of comfort you know, especially if we are unable to stand for the whole of a meeting because of aches and pains, also whats it like for parking and is there a pub nearby where I can get a meal at a reasonable price. Any advice greatly appreciated. :D

Bring your chair as there are only about 50 in main stand. Bring a portaloo. Plenty of decent eating places nearby, Jovial Monk, Robins Farm, Harvester,

Cold Harbour, and Monica's, excellent fish n chips by the Monk. You can park there and short walk to stadium, or pay to park at stadium. Couple of snack bars and bars in stadium. Enjoy your visit to The Abbey, and wrap up well, nearly always cold on Blunsdon Hill.

Thanks for the advice, I take it that a Portaloo is optional and you do have some sort of loos ?

All set to make the trip when the fixtures were released, but the car died on me recently. The age and value make repair uneconomic, so it'll have to be updates

If you see a huge old man who is not bald wearing a red bowler hat, pink chinos, and a red and white striped blazer, carrying a red walking stick, come and say hello sid.

Perhaps you can make it next time, i'm one of the few Arsenal supporting, pie and mash eating cockneys amongst the west-country crowd at Blunsdon, although the local delicacy Lardy cake ain't bad, washed down with a cider.

There's quite a few clowns at Blunsdon so if you can't beat em join em.
