Ipswich V Peterborough April 15th 7.30pm

True, but his dad John certainly knew the quickest way round , he was virtually unbeatable.

JL is often asked what was his favourite track, his answer.....All of them!! He loved to race and adapted accordingly.

I can honestly say that not one (as far as I'm aware) fan, rider or management made a comment about the track at Sheffield, that was ALL from the victorious Sheffield fans.

The track whatever it is, is there to be raced on, and as professional sportsmen surely they should adapt to size and conditions. Admittedly some may not have the super equipment needed for flat out racing on the bigger tracks, so will struggle, but take it from me, the Peterborough boys syched themselves out before a wheel was turned (for whatever reason!!) Saturday night, and the evidence was there for us all to see, although BWD proved the more experienced riders very wrong.

Honestly BCD, you've never ever been a fan of Foxhall have you?!! :P

I rarely miss a Ipswich v Peterborough match and certainly haven't missed many over the last few decade or two, i do like your stadium facilities and viewing but I have rarely seen good racing at foxhall in all the years I have been going.

I agree somewhat that all tracks are their to be raced on and clubs should set up the tracks to suit their team but I do feel that all tracks should be prepared to encourage good racing which after all is what it's all about.

As for Rathbones sly dig in his press release, he too should be ashamed of himself. He should have been praising the efforts of the people at Ipswich for producing a race track fit for good racing, and then apologising to everybody who attended for his teams abysmal "effort" in doing any racing at all!!!

You should be used to it, Rathbone is the biggest whinger going - just look at the times things haven't gone his way and how the dummy came straight out - the Thorsell (non) signing, the Cook (non) signing, and the final league match at Edinburgh after the cut off date as a few examples - always the "wronged" party never at fault!!

Yesterday I was listening to professional speedway rider after professional speedway rider criticise the Ipswich track and I was thinking you clowns you know nothing. Arch Stanton says it looked fine from his seat and so it must have been. I wished they interviewed him as he knows everything about speedway & track preparation, not those idiot professional speedway riders.

He wasn't actually gonna say...Yeah the track was okay but as you saw, some of our riders just couldn't be bothered? Nah of course he isn't. if all the least experienced riders managed fine, it couldn't have been that bad. Suck it up and move on. Let's also hope your track is more grippy on our next visit. I've seen your track much deeper than that before and as we know, it produces awsome races.

Despite my previous post, it's hard not to bite on this one. When anyone from Norfolk or Suffolk visits it's best to go on the slick side of good, because having just left the middle of nowhere they do like a ploughed field analogy to remind them of home so it's best to play safe.

"Still, the boys got a good win, Peterborough made the track look twice as tricky as it actually was and we all went home happy."

And those the comments from another "professional speedway rider", the British champion no less, in his column today.

So what Ipswich made Panthers look silly a week ago and the week before Sheffield made your lot look silly , it's over time to move on .

Which is of course why Peterborough graded the track for heat 15 to favour the outside knowing that Ippo had 1 and 3 ....of course just to favour "good racing"
