Belle Vue V's Wolves Fri 14/4/17

Looks like the BV team woke up in the second half of the meeting and securing the points was then just like like taking candy from a baby. Speaking of which, what's this I hear a 10 month old child was charged £8 to get into NSS today? Will promoters ever learn? :nono:

The track was grippy in the first half of the meeting. Always helps the away team when it rains.

A wet/grippy NSS is definitely it's weak point. Not soaked, but enough to bring the grip out and it gets pretty processional to be honest.

When it's slick it produces good racing.

Two other people have said they have either been told by Belle Vue that there is no charge for children not old enough to occupy a seat in the grandstand or not been charged, so I suspect this was just a matter of someone in the ticket office getting it wrong. There is no charge at all for children under 12 accompanied by an adult in the south stand.

It is £8 in the grandstand for 0-11 if they are sitting in a seat.

But this 10 month old wasn't so should really have been free. Think it was a mistake by my mrs. A genuine one. Something got lost in translation in the middle of the conversation as she as let baby's in for free before tonight if there say on knees.

It will be sorted and hopefully the guy can get a refund

Sad news last night .George Carrswell was told to leave the pits ,and he would not be allowed in again. Now i dont know who gave such a order but to me it stinks,George has a long history at Belle Vue,He spent a great deal of money helping out, signing riders ,paying for some out of his own money ,and in the last few years he ran the Colts ,again putting his own money up .To be treated like that by these new owners is disgusting they should look at what he as contributed to this club before making such decisions. They no nothing about speedway and nothing about people who are the backbone of the club .They should be ashamed to treat George like this ,he is a nice genuine guy and not a David Gordon fan, bring George back or myself and family long time Aces fans will simply stop coming to support such heartless promotion.

that is terible if true and I also witnessed another long time belle vue person who is not an employee but I believe has and still does contribute to belle vue being questioned why he was on the list to get in ,sad Edited by THE DEAN MACHINE

Belle vue for years have had a very long list of ppl who get free entrance. Probably twice as long as the next longest list in speedway. Something did need to Be done and it needed to be cut down tbf.

I don't agree with the carswell decision though. He should be on the list but you can understand if the decision was made by lemon as carswell was a rival bidder and they diddnt want lemon anywhere near the club.

Either way hope it's sorted soon

I agree the lists do need to be cut down but I believe the person in question is a major player in publicity for belle vue

GC will be at every meeting until end of April. Then he goes back to Canada for good as I understand it. He has sold his programme collection to John Sommerville which rather indicates he is making a break back to Vancouver. We wont see him back here in any capacity.

George was stood at bar with a couple of guys at the side of me in the PCS after the match. Chatting n laughing, seemed happy enough.

Have said on here before that I hoped he'd be involved this year, was very positive around the Colts & a huge supporter of all things BV. Hope he is looked after properly, his support of the Aces over some dark years for our club should count for something.

Sounds a sensible decision.

Too many folks hanging around in the pits in most meetings.

If he's not a rider, official or mechanic why is he there?

I heard the same rumour as well.

Having blagged my way in I saw George in the PC suite before the meeting. Luckily he didn't recognise either of my alleged bsf personas (ironically 'weaved' in the simple mind of brum's hapless uncle) and happily nodded back when I said hello.

If he had been told to leave the pits he didn't seem that bothered. It would appear that someone (besides brum's uncle, lol!) has got the wrong end of the stick.

Cleverly done, even made me chuckle.
