Leicester V Poole 8/4/17 Ela

Give it a chance

I don't have to thankfully. As I'm a nomadic Bees fan I can pick and choose, and I'll only return to Leicester this season for the Bees challenge match.

The track will never be any good. Riders just get so strung out over the 4 laps.

I'll stick with a weekly trip to Peterborough.

That's a bit short sighted of them it's only one meeting in a long season

How many meetings does it take to put someone off ?

Some will give it another go, many won't.

Having said that, I suspect the result might be equally as responsible as the track.

Let's take a breath, appalling team performance last night draw a line under learn from mistakes and move on. You don't become a bad rider over night. 6 days ago we run wolves close and beat swindon days before.

Yes some riders need to take a long hard look in the mirror they know who they are give them a couple more meetings and if no improvement then address changes move into May doubling up should ease. Poole will be there or there about this season That said same for both teams with the poor track last night.

I'm as passionate as all but was embarrassed last night listening to darcy talk. Yes painful defeat but as a promotor you do not get on the mic with these comments. He has passion I will give him that but for me lacks motivation and business professionalism we're is machin with all his years experience to take these interviews loose cannon. If I hung my fitters out in public all that happens is de motivation now is the time behind doors to debate and promote to the public and strong team approach as only as a team do you succeed. P.s what's going on with the stadium speakers could hardly hear last night and opening presentations are appalling as stated many times. I will give a couple more weeks hope others do too.........

Surely most would give it another go, i would support my club through thick and thin.

If you are committed supporter, yes. If you a floater or a newbie, very possibly not.

A friend of mine took two newcomers to the Sheffield/Somerset free meeting.

They had left by heat 12 and won't be going back because it was so poor.

Its why everything has to be done to ensure that the speedway is as good as it can be.

Not a good performance from the Lions last night but heyy ho - it was against Poole Pirate who let's face it have a team set up made to beat the Lions septet at present - ie: arguably the top two League Heat Leader 1&5 in the League, an ex Lion Heat Leader at reserve added to a brilliant display from Brady Kurtz - plus slick track, no Bates at reserve. Leicester always going to struggle in this one!

Not the end of the world yet .... Cheers

Come you Lions !

The shambolic way the meeting was run won't help either.

You can get away with poor racing to an extent if you run the meeting well. This dragged on for hours.

Why can't all tracks start on time and run meetings efficiently like Wolverhampton?

People say it's down to the ref but it can't be as Wolves meetings are consistently better run than at any other track in the country, regardless of ref.

It's been years of waiting for a better track, many came back to give it another try after track alterations but last night was a shocker and at £17 it's not value for money.

As for Dave Darcy, well I am sure someone will comment on what was said or have a video link, total embarrassment.

He's did his best Norrie Allen impression!

Thankfully there were very few left behind to hear it. This, coupled with the poor time keeping, poor racing and the usual poor sight lines and lack of facilities at Beaumont Park will keep all bar hardcore supporters away.

Shame that a track that I can get to in 25 minutes is the one I'm least likely to attend again this year.

Giving Rye a go next week, although that was apparently rubbish last night as well.

Thank God Peterborough isn't too far and they ride mostly on a Sunday.

I have been to Leicester 6 times now and this was the fastest run of all. Back in the car by 9.30 and on our way.

Not sure why Leicester fans say they are giving up etc. They got beat thats all. Support your team.

Crowd was good last night. Racing was not although there were more passes in last nights meeting than I have witnessed in any of the previous 5. The racing was poor though. The track shape still doesn't seem to lend itself to passing. Perhaps it needs to bed in more as the area which had been widened was quite rough when riders went through it.

To be honest Leicester got the backlash of Pooles poor performance at Belle Vue the night before. The lads were certainly fired up for this one and it showed straight away.

Some are moaning about Bates and Riss missing. Would it have made much difference to the scoreline? Perhaps a few points closer but Poole would still have come away with the 4 points. Bates is a good reserve but Kindt is better. Bates would have taken points from Shanes granted. As for Schlein, he got 7 and Riss might have got a a point more. Leicester again made an error though as Schlein was illegal. If Leicester had cost Poole a point an appeal would have gone in. I am sure.

Leicester didn't have riders with the firepower to handle last night. Do Leicester City fans all clear off from their foitball club because they were near the bottom most of this season? Support your club!

Don't know what Darcy said but if he was angry with his teams performance he should stay away from any public lambasting. Worst possible thing to do.

For Leicester.

Nilsson rode well in every one of his races. Best Leicester rider.

Auty had one good ride but was off the pace most of the night.

Schlein battled and had a win from the back when he got up the inside of KK.

Gomolski had a mare. Leading one heat he stopped when he saw a red light in the crowd. Was awol the rest of the time.

King started well but faded very badly.

Graversen was poor to useless.

Ayres had one goid ride but was poor.

For Poole.

KK was good and fast got the track record for a week

Holder was poor. EF on the start line followed by being beaten by Ayres. Not acceptable and he knows it.

Kerr did his job. Some good sensible riding.

Kurtz was superb. No one could get near him. Won his races by a mile. Rider of the night.

Andersen was very good. Solid night.

Klindt did exactly as expected. Gave the team tips on track positions before the meeting. Was fast and agressive.

Shanes was again excellent for a number seven. Turned the bike on a sixpence to have Graversen for breakfast on his first vist here. Passed both Leicester reserves on the same bend! Boy has talent.

So Somerset home and away next Friday. Bring on the Rebels. And hope King rides better than he did last night.

At last a positive post, I for one fort it was a ok meeting! And to read a certain poster comments regarding Danny Ayres, he gave 110% last night & that's all you can ask.

And if he hadn't screwed up turn 2 heat 2 would have ended up with paid 5! Give the lad a chance!

Yes Bates and Riss would have made a difference and Bates wouldnt have been beaten by Klindt everytime they met im sure of that. Poole may well have won but it would have been much much closer.

Schlein and Graversen got 8 between them. In the last home meeting Bates and Riss got paid 24. even away from home they got 14.

Nice to see your doing the match report and rider analysis..................did Poole win by any chance????

I'd argue with that. KL, Swindon and Wolves are a match for those two.

Write off our Poole Pirates at your own risk. Totally different performance to last night with every rider bending their bikes in half to slaughter Leicester. I guess riot act well and truly read.

Fabulous dominant Pirates. Leicester never stood a chance tonight.

He wouldn't have got near Klindt who has seen off King.

Said I thought you were wrong to think Poole would go down. Didn't think it would be so one sided though.

Never seen so much messing about at the starts. The starting marshalls are following the rules which call for the riders in grid 1 to be ready to race first but when such riders won't conform then it becomes farcical. All the marshalls need to do is to stand between grids 2 & 3 with arms raised indicating to the riders that he wants them to line up. If they still won't comply the referee should intervene. Must have wasted 15 minutes last night.
