Mr Blobby
So after a successful week last week with a entertaining Scottish open we start our league campaign against the Scunthorpe scorpions who have a top 5 who on their day individually can win races round Armadale so we will need to be on it from the start in this one if we want to send the scorpions home with nothing. Teams for Friday. Edinburgh Sam Masters Josh Pickering Erik Riss Max Clegg Ricky Wells Mark Riss Mitchell Davey Scunthorpe Ryan Douglas Carl Wilkinson Lewis Kerr Micheal Palm Toft Josh Auty Fritz Wallner Josh Bailey
Paulco
Scunthorpe will have their fixtures done by the end of May at this rate . Canny see anything other than a comfortable home win here .
cyclone
Scunthorpe will have their fixtures done by the end of May at this rate . Canny see anything other than a comfortable home win here . Not as confident, given that our 2,3, & 4 are in uncharted territory. Erik Riss's early form is impressive, so he looks ready to take the third heat leader role. However Clegg was poor in the Scottish Open and his displays for Wolves have been very mediocre, so he will have to improve rapidly, given he is now in the main body of the team. Pickering's debut reminded me of how Jason Lyons first started out, namely determined and fast but prone to overcook things at times. Also riding at no. 2 means he will not have the benefit of observing how others ride the track before he appears.
scunny1
We must do better on the road this season. Given that so far our form has been unsatisfactory, Rob has had words and the team will kick on now, hopefully.
damosuzuki
Forced to admit that Edinburgh look a formidable side this season. Don't expect a pummeling but the form of E Riss and the fact Pickering can score points says 55-

Max Clegg probably fortunate to be one of Monarchs mandatory two UK passports as he can only be replaced by another one.

scotchopper
Brilliant new feature from Edinburgh Monarchs and EMTV a meeting preview for the visit of Scunthorpe on Friday and sounds like there will be a meeting review as well. https://www.facebook.com/edinburghmonarchs/videos/1381096725259761/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED Well done to all involved. Will be an interesting match on Friday, Monarchs should have enough but you never really know for sure in the first match and as the Scorpions have a few more meetings under their belt could be dangerous Now on Monarchs website as well for the non facebookers http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/emtv/video/2017-04-07/match-2:-scunthorpe Edited April 7, 2017 by scotchopper

IronScorpion
Looking at the averages of riders that could or have been approached near to Ryan that might have done a job would be Schlein, Berge, doolan. With Ryan being top average rider though, anyone can take his rides so got to use Fritz wisely if he does well to maximise his 7 rides including possibly taking the 4th ride of poorly performing riders. Makes our job harder, now, than it was before. COME ON THE SCORPIONS AND PULL OFF A SURPRISE. dodgy burger there's more fat on a burger than there is on Ryan! Mr Blobby
Good way to start the season with a big win even though Mitch and max struggled it was still very convincing. Sam was his usual self and Ricky wells was a joy to watch his ride in heat 11 especially. Erik started well and kind of lost his way after his harsh exclusion. Mark won't be at reserve long if he continues like fantastic last night. Special mention to josh Pickering who for only his second meeting was fantastic seems we've got a good one in josh.
