Gavan
Another good result for Belle Vue and as mentioned Fricke isn't firing yet. Smith gets his first win so his confidence will be sky high. The team to beat along with Kings Lynn in my opinion
Gunner85
Good result for the Aces. Â Top 5 only had one last in their programmed rides. Â Reserves picked up points including Jack's first win.
Grachan
By my calculations we are on 39.1 at the moment with Emil on 5.14. Â He'd presumably be a whipping boy if we made a change so we could get an 8 point rider in for him as things stand. Â What constitutes an 8 point rider these days? Would Kildemand, for example, fit in? Or would it be a second division 8 pointer?
Sidney the robin
A very average meeting a couple of decent scraps Bjerre v Doyley but still a great crowd though for a lovely evening.Belle Vue really have a very good side a better balanced side without Zagar and also have two promising young Brits at reserve who will only get better as the season progresses.Swindon this side worries me no chance of a top four Nick/Bellego and Zac encouraging signs there but it could be a tough season ahead on and off the track. keef robin
Great crowd, car park full, Swindon fans so sporting and supported their team to the end. Morra man of the match, Bellego good. Poor racing until the Bjerre pass on Doyley. Aces look good. fliss44
Â Not just last season! Problem as I see it whenever I've witnessed speedway at Poole is the bumps. Preparation would make a great deal of difference and help to reduce the one-line only (near the fence) that I've seen so often. Oooooh but Poole is PERFECT according Saint Steve Shovlar!!! theblueboy
A poor night for the Robins but well done BV they deserved the victory. Swindon were the architects of their own downfall. Â Given that this was always going to be tight, I thought Swindon might win 46-44 47-43, I cannot understand the logic in throwing away gates 1 & 3 in the opening races. In footballing parlance it's like kicking in to the wind. I cannot remember LA choosing 2 & 4 when he had the option. Â Then, I witnessed the 2nd miracle of my speedway career. The first was Seb Ulamek passing an Eastbourne rider. Yesterday, I witnessed Polar Bjerre pass Doyle like he was stood still. The immense satisfaction at seeing a gating tart overtake a rider is definitely an 'I was there moment'. Â Finally, Adam Ellis chucking away two points, which summed up his evening nicely. Â The crowd was decent but in truth, it was a poor meeting and changes need to be made immediately at the first GSA to stand any chance of competing this season.

Overused and pretty boring myth about Bjerre. It simply isn't true. In fact him passing on that track was a truly incredible achievement, he should be given a medal. Race after race after race after race...........from the gate. As a belle vue rider I've already counted a shade under 10 passes from him so far. colin wood
What's worrying is that at Poole on wed and Swindon last night the racing was classed as poor. This must be down to poor track prep. There was more than enough good riders on show at both meetings and yet dull boring racing? Can't see this happening at BV though we Aces fans are so lucky to watch at the NSS every week there was probably more passing in one heat at the Peter Craven meeting than the full match at Poole.Give the riders a good race track and the racing will improve.Poorly prepared tracks are killing speedway IMO.

And what do you call poorly preped tracks then ? I can't wait to see the report from tonights meeting. Plenty of poole fans going up to give an honest assessment..
hyabb17
The track was fine, Doyley said as much before the meeting & during it no riders came into grief because of the track. Time's were fairly consistent, around the 65-66 second mark per race.
Sidney the robin
I really thought the Abbey track looked in good shape last night, unlike the scary filthy dreaded toilets on the back straight.😆I do think our bend two is very tricky now and it changes the shape of some of the races.

hyabb17
Yeah, so perhaps some who are quick to judge by looking at scores will cut him some slack. Ellis broke his shoulder yesterday.

I agree, although many tracks are hamstrung by the shape of the available space to them. Swindon always seems a very narrow track to me, but they aren't going to spend money to change it if they are moving?? Poole need to do something about their track now, it was ok when Ward was there, he could overtake on anything that was put in front of him. It is such a well supported club, it should have one of the best tracks to go with it, but they recently don't seem to get the track prep right from reports that come in week to week. Â As a belle vue rider I've already counted a shade under 10 passes from him so far. One swallow blah blah blah..... Â I can't validate your statement. I can only speak on the numerous visits he has made to the Abbey, where he has made a lot of riders look very good due to his inability to mix it, despite his GP status. Â I suspect most people, certainly Swindon fans, would say they are more likely to have seen rocking horse sh*t than a Bjerre overtaking manoeuvre. Â Your not going to persuade me that Polar is anything other than a gating tart and what I witnessed last night was a miracle...😛
hyderd
so nothing to do with the fact that Ellis failed to score and 10 points between 3 other Swindon riders. If BV were that good they should have won by more! Â Well done BV - an expected win and result never looked in doubt. Â The fact Ellis scored zero is simply because Belle Vue riders beat him in the heats he was riding in, even if he had 4 engine failures that would still be the same. Any win away from home is a good win, I'm pretty sure mdmc82 meant pretty much that. Â The night before at Poole wasn't a win, but it was a good result. One swallow blah blah blah..... Â Your not going to persuade me that Polar is anything other than a gating tart and what I witnessed last night was a miracle... Â I can't put forward a valid argument for your comment as I was not at Swindon last night, however I was at the NSS for the PCMT meeting and witnessed KB passing in every heat he was in, heat 1 he was last coming out of turn 2 1st lap and all but past Kurzt the eventual heat winner. All his other heats he won but didn't make the gate in any of them. He has started this season on fire, long may it continue.
