Berwick V Newcastle Tyne Tweed Trophy 1st Leg Sat 25th March

Recommended Posts

Decent meeting last night with some cracking racing and some good times as well . A healthy crowd is always good to see and I think most would go home happy . Berwick look a little undercooked but that's to be expected at this time of year .

As said very good meeting Claus superb think they should be aiming for hour and half meetings every week. Could anybody understand Steves co presenter ?,any news on track at Duns ?

Couldn't understand much of what he said thankfully because what we could hear was garbage.Dennis McLeary said they would sort out microphone problems for next week. Please don't unless you put his on permanent silent.

Last time I passed the Duns track a week or two ago it looked like if it was a hard frost it would have been great for ice speedway

Cracking good racing and swift movement of riders from the pits for each heat whoever is cracking the whips in there. But we only need Steve on grass surely, Roy was caught between smirking at Diamonds winning races and trying to be understood. But overall the new promotions are clearly working hard to make things better. We liked it last night.

An engine cannot be too fast, if the bike is correctly set up, the set up will control the power

Really? after seeing Tai Woffinden in the World Cup last year, i would say that engine he was on was more than just the set up, was like a rocket!

Combination, good rider, good engine, brilliant set up, combined with a good tuner. The engine itself is only part of the factor, not any good without the other factors as well.

Am not so sure you need two guys in middle. I think Steve would be good at it. He done it before.

I like to new start to the meeting and I can see it being popular with the younger fans, having two centre green presenters may work out, only thing for me is that at times you feel like youre listening to a conversation rather than having meeting presentation. But credit to the new promotion for at least trying things new, some will work some wont, meetings at Berwick have been presented in roughly the same style for donkeys years using the same jokes season in season out.

One week into the job and you want them sacked. Nothing like giving somebody a chance :-)

Give them time and I reckon they will get a decent act together. It's a good format between races, a bit of crack about the race, up to the box for the result, a blast of music, the line up for the next race, a bit of crack about the next race, the race. Couple of interviews thrown in. It was always going to have a strange feel to it, after so long being used to Dick Barrie.

At least the promotion are trying something different. Lot of new things brought in this season. It's working so far.

As already mentioned regarding presenters give them a chance, it's different to what we have had over the years so will take time to get used to. I was at the 4's weekend last season and Roy was superb and this was over 2 days having to keep people informed and entertained which he did. New promotion are trying different things to improve entertainment on a Saturday night give it time.

Two voices in middle plus Dennis was too many and while experiment worthwhile it wasnt success so back to one and one please. Roy is a lovely man and ultra enthusiastic for Newcastle but not for Bandits please. Dennis and Steve way to go.

if you dont try things you will never know what works best.

Best meeting I've seen at Berwick in half a dozen visits ... its not exactly a regular track for me! Shame that with the crowd all round the track the atmosphere compared to Newcastle the following night wasn't as good. Maybe the fans on the home straight made a lot of noise which we didn't hear on back straight. Otherwise very enjoyable.

Apart from the 3rd bend, Berwick fans are are a very reserved bunch, when they are vocal, you know the Bandits are struggling to win
