R87
Thorssell rubbish away really?😕 He isn't rubbish, but certainly not as good on the road as at Monmore.
foreverblue
On paper Clegg probably would have been the best number seven in the league across the whole season (and not just two challenge matches) because of his comparative experience and the average he has achieved in the PL (Championship).I would have thought using that criteria Jan Graversen would a better number 7 than Clegg
ray c
James look pretty good last night as it was his first meeting the track.ss say's there was a lot of passing not really close racing yes not the best of crowd for Poole standard .I think next week will be a harder test on this season race format qa
Sidney the robin
He isn't rubbish, but certainly not as good on the road as at Monmore. That is one thing Jacob needs to do improve his away scores. But Doyle/Thorssell are two great examples to anyone keep working hard keep believing and with a bit of luck you can improve. bigcatdiary
Cracking ride by pointless Greaves to beat maximum man Klindt who when on a 15m handicap failed to pass him. You cannot take your eyes off this! Lol. I think the term "gating tart" was invented with Klindt in mind.
Mjolnir
Great to hear Shanes had such a good debut for the Pirates, I really enjoyed watching him down at Kent. Very entertaining rider. One for the future I hope!
ArthurRudge
Well done James Shanes really refreshing to see may it continue. Â Wolves were terrible.
Steve Shovlar
Klindt showed passing ability last night to blast around a few Wolves riders. Â As for Thorsell, the difference in his riding last night to Monday was chalk and cheese. On Monday he was like a world champion, weaving in and out and passing for fun. Ended up 50 metres clear by the end of the race. Last night, well.......a young lad by the name of James Shanes, who had never ridden a single heat at Wimborne Road before this meeting, outgated and outrode Thorsell to see him off. Â A complete shock to be honest but shows Thorsell has a lot to learn. Its OK being king of your own back yard but if you want to be classed as a top rider, this should not have happened. Â Personally, I think Thorsell has a lot more in him and will turn out to be a very good rider in years to come. But he has to work on his away form. Shanes the great entertainer.... enjoy all Poole supporters.

Shanes the great entertainer.... enjoy all Poole supporters. Couldn't agree more. I think most fans would have liked to see the team built around at least one of them, if not both. Great to see them both riding in the top tier though. And anyway, I'm a lifelong Lakeside fan, I should probably forget all about Kent now they're both in the NL 😄 Looking forward to the Lakeside / Eastbourne / Kent derbies. Â Twicelast night when he came around for his victory lap he stopped at the start line to get the crowd going. Going to be a fans favourite. Good lad, we need more of that in speedway! BWitcher
Very much the expected result from last night. Â Good to see some Poole fans getting very carried away. Â Shanes did well, but again, in reality, he had one ride I wouldn't have expected him to win and that was against Thorssell. All the rest he only beat Clegg or Greaves. Howarth was beating him when he packed up. Â I don't read much into challenge meets like this, it's simply blowing the cobwebs away, testing machinery and setups in preparation for the league. From a Wolves perspective it was obvious the reserves would struggle, Clegg needs to step up but that will be tough.
Sidney the robin
Still not convinced with this Poole team to be honest something missing. The number 1 is vulnerable and i can see a few away defeats on the horizon.Wolves will be fine top four easily, they also have scope for changes in three positions if need be. stevebrum
Expected really, although well done Shanes, that I didn't expect, made up for the deficiencies of the Pirates gating tart #1. Â So do Wolves fans now realise they should have signed Klindt before they handed team spots to Skornicki & Howarth? And wouldn't Harris or Nicholls have scored more than Masters over two legs. That Clegg could be the best #7 in the league but he would struggle as the lead reserve. Â I told you all winter you built a team that couldn't retain the title and my prediction has manifested so early it is laughable. And you were told all winter that Klindt didn't want to come to Wolves. Just give it a rest.
foreverblue
Considering most Poole fans would be happy with 2 -3 points a meeting from young James he scored about six meetings worth of points last night! Not getting carried away tougher challenges to come but he certainly has a lot of promise and he's a Brit!
Starman2006
I think the term "gating tart" was invented with Klindt in mind. Clearly you wasn't at Poole last night then. He's a rejuvenated rider..
