SCB
How pleasing to read such great reviews about a young Brit! As for those claiming Clegg was going to be one of the top 5 improves this year, God only know why people thought that. And Wolves look pitiful. acef
Shane's is quality. Going to be a top rider Wolves will need to make changes. Puts pressure on the home meetings when you travel so poorly. Lack of support to Lindgren and the worst reserve pairing in the division. Although I'm certain that will change at the first set of averages
rocketman77
was a real dustbowl but smooth I am convinced there was more to it with Fridays farce but glad the fans got a full meeting tonight and well done to james shanes.
Steve Shovlar
Well that clearly shows the gulf in the quality between the two teams. Poole could easily have had 60 points tonight. Wolves were just completely and utterly blown away and never looked like a team who could defend their first leg lead, even after a heat 1 5-1. From then on it was a rout with Wolves riders fighting over the scraps. For Poole. KK said in the post meeting interview his first bike was spinning upso he switched to his second bike which was better. Rode well. 3/5 Holder got his first race win and was a solid team rider. Fought well in one heat to defend his position. 3.5/5 Kurtz was fast and really going for it. Ran a last when the track had completely slickened off but it was all over by then anyway. Good stuff. 4/5 Andersen was very hard and agressive with some Tomasz Gollob style dive bombs off the third bend, very good stuff. 4/5 Klindt just blew away most of the opposition. Went through the tapes when his cable fell apart and said in the interview he didn't feel safe trying to pass Greaves so sat safe. 4.5/5 James Shanes. What a home debut. Said he couldn't believe it in the post meeting interview but it was fully deserved. He made some cracking gates, rode fast and aggressively and held off Thorsell with relative ease by chosing the right lines and blocking. Might not repeat this anytime soon but the lad has ability on a bike. MOTM. 5/5. For Wolves. Lindgren started and ended with a win but didn't do much in between. 2.5/5 Howarth started well with a paid win but that was about it. 1.5/5 Skornicki looked very poor. Either not fit or just not on it anymore. Had a second but that was about it. 1/5 Thorsell was the opposite of Monday where he was unbeatable. Beaten by a young junior making his debut. One heat win in heat 14 when it was all over. 2.5/5 Masters. Pretty poor all night and not close to winning a race. Outfought. 1.5/5 Clegg was not close to beating a Poole rider. Looks out of his depth. Beat Greaves in heat 2 and gifted his other point. 0/5 Greaves. Same as Clegg, except he did manage to beat Klindt who had gone through the tapes. Chopped up Klindt twice and Klindt then decided to be sensible and stay clear. Finger wagging after the race. 0.5/5 Wolves have made a howler in not having a scoring reserve. They are stuck with them and they will never score enough for one of the top five to drop down. Whist it is only a matter of time before Klindt moves up, he will be replaced by Kerr, who will still be a very decent reserve compared to who he will have to beat. Whether Shanes continues to score we will have to wait and see but tonight Poole fans were treated to one heck of a debut. As for the track, no spongy bends but got dusty and could have been watered a lot more. Plenty of passing though.
stevebrum
And Wolves look pitiful. HeheI'm sure we will put the Bees in their place on the 10th. Maybe have a hehe meself. Well done Poole on the win and Shield. Great to see Shanes doing well. Top job. Very little to say about the pathetic performance from Wolves. Well that clearly shows the gulf in the quality between the two teams. That's why Poole won easily on Monday then I guess. Well i think the Wolves team isn't bad Skornicki will improve as will Masters, thought Howarth rode well monday Thorsell looked amazing monday but not so good tonight but overall a decent top 5 but the reserves are terrible even at home they were awful. Why did not just tell the truth ..that he never passes anyone . Well he passed Clegg off 15 metres! and monday did the same. ok Clegg is awful but a pass is a pass

So how many of you Wolves fans thought it would be a forgone conclusion that Wolves would come to poole and go back with the shield ? Quite a few at a guess. Please keep that Premiership trophy clean..

poolebolton
Yes, I am a Poole fan but this my opinion on this wolves team. 1.Freddie= Is a quality rider at Wolves, but everyone gives KK stick but this guy is pretty more away from home= 8/10 2. Howarth= There is a reason why Matt never brought into the team full team. Very Inconsistent but is Ok. If he gets some form but he is just average=6/10 3. Skornicki= This guy is useless. Was rubbish at Blue riband. Put fancy things on your race suit if your a top 10 rider in the world. The moment you signed him, there went your title chances=4/10 4. Thorssell= Awesome at home, rubbish away. Thank you. 7/10 (simply because you won't lose at home) 5. Masters= Good racer. If he gets some good rides at Edinburgh will do well. My question does he want to get to the next level. I have heard that a bit like Batch is a very lazy rider sometimes. 7/10 6. Clegg= Below average will only ever get to Howarth level= 5/10 7. Greaves= Is now in 3 top flight year and has improved to the level of national league still= 2/

Col
Expected really, although well done Shanes, that I didn't expect, made up for the deficiencies of the Pirates gating tart #1. So do Wolves fans now realise they should have signed Klindt before they handed team spots to Skornicki & Howarth? And wouldn't Harris or Nicholls have scored more than Masters over two legs. That Clegg could be the best #7 in the league but he would struggle as the lead reserve. I told you all winter you built a team that couldn't retain the title and my prediction has manifested so early it is laughable.
theblueboy
58 points against the League winners? I'm glad the Private Frazer talk of 'we're doomed' was put to bed in emphatic style. #nolegformetostandonsaysshovlar
Bagpuss
I think people need to realise that it's still March and these were two challenge matches. Very, very early days and there will have been cobwebs to blow away and machinery issues to iron out. Wouldn't be jumping to conclusions too soon, the play offs are an awful long way off.

They are indeed but Wolves need three replacements if they hope to be in the mix.

We all know that but certain Poole fans just can't help themselves! A win's a win and I'm sure there will be more to come - as well as a few defeats along the way!

Shanes on shield form is much better than Clegg so Clegg wouldn't be the best number 7 and i expect there will be others. You are once again failing to realise that Klindt, Harris, Nicholls etc were not available to Wolves to sign. Klindt has put his thoughts in the local paper which is available on line which he says he was disappointed not to be used by Wolves since 2012 when he needed a team place so when they called this season he opted to bide his time to see what other offers he got and when Wolves called three weeks later he had already signed for Poole. It seems he would only sign for Wolves if he had no other offers and knowing his average there were always going to be other offers. However in my opinion Wolves will improve and be play off contenders, it is very early days to make sweeping judgements. Bagpuss
On paper Clegg probably would have been the best number seven in the league across the whole season (and not just two challenge matches) because of his comparative experience and the average he has achieved in the PL (Championship).
