racers and royals
Is that true (probably no TV coverage) or is it your opinion? I dont think that TV speedway depends on 4 or 6 riders. British speedway is down in the dumps, what it doesnt want is other nations treading on us thus making it difficult for us to stand up again. My opinion-that`s why I put probably- it would have been much harder to get BT interested if those 4 didn`t ride and of course they wouldn`t have been replaced by anyone riding Polish Extraleague(non-Polish)

Steve Shovlar
Matt ford talks about this in tonights forum at the stadium which I filmd and can be watched here. https://www.periscope.tv/w/a5hSKjFtTUVQZVdxTm1RR2J8MW1ueGVWbU9xdlpLWM97KgL61pwX5DK46oADFHD9SHzwzXS-C2AQJNBH5NDo  Matt talks about Poland at about 34 mins in. INCOGNITO
Fully understand Matt Fords stance on this issue, especially as Jack is listed as a standby reserve in Poland so has no known fixtures at present and unlikely to get many meetings unless they suffer injuries. However in Poland they expect riders to turn up for practice sessions and media appearances and failing to do so can result in losing their contracts. Â For most riders these contracts make up half of their income through the season as the wages for 14 Polish meetings is about the same as 30 meetings in Britain plus in Poland there are more lucrative sponsors. Also the new TV deal in Poland is considerably bigger than the one British Speedway has and therefore clubs need commitment from their riders. Â If this was the other way around, I'm sure Britain would be asking the same commitment so while it may be a problem for tracks here and pressure on the riders, it's understandable why this clubs in Poland are doing what they are doing. One thing that is in Matt Fords statement however rings true and little is pointed out about it. Jack Holder along with Doyle, Holder and Masters all get visas to ride here and this gives them the base to ride elsewhere. Â Australian riders have been the backbone of British Speedway from day one and if being in Britain is so important to them riding in Europe then maybe next year something needs putting in place with the authorities to ensure Britain gets rights as the main employer of these riders otherwise they would need to get themselves based in Sweden or Poland.

Steve Shovlar
A point Matt Ford made tonight. How many Australian have Poland signed and brought over and nurtured from the start of their careers? Answer is none. Â The expect Britain to bring them over, train them up then cherry pick the best and now expect these riders to ditch the UK. Matt was having none of it. He said when he refused to sign, Turuns top guy phoned him up trying a different tac. Matt won't sign full stop. He said Poland have compulsory practice days and riders would miss a meeting in the UK just because a rider was needed for practice on a whim from his Polish club. Flappy
Wonder what Jack Holder thinks of the situation? Both Poole and Panthers and standing firm and rightly so. Especially considering Panthers race at home on Sundays.

bigcatdiary
Jack Holder gave the thumbs down on Twitter so he's not best pleased Pleased to see some clubs have some backbone, this is clearly wrong and needs standing up to. Â As for Holder junior does he want to race every week or not, the point made about Poland not bringing over riders and training them is a good one.
INCOGNITO
Do the Australian riders get their Visas because they are based in Britain. YES Â So what would happen if Britain said that these people are not working for us and going missing. Would they lose their visas and if they did then Poland or Sweden wouldn't be able to use them just as we wouldn't. If Australian and other countries want to get permits to race here or in Poland then they need to be based where their priorities are. Â Doyle and Chris Holder would without doubt apply to Poland to be based there while the rest will stay in Britain until they reach that level which could happen soon with Fricke and Masters improving each year. Â Difficult situation and blame can't be put on the riders in many ways as they are simply trying to earn a living but the way it's going any rider that rides in the top league in Poland won't be riding here or vica versa

Another point brought up tonight is Kyle Newman having around 80 meetings lined up in the uk this season. He might get half a dozen in Poland, and as a minor rider won't be paid similar rates to the top guys, plus its actually difficult to get the actual money originally offered.
