Gunner85
Nice to see that Matt Ford has refused to sign a statement releasing Jack Holder for rearranged Polish matches. I hope that does not mean that Jack gets the sack from Poland and the Poles simmer down. It was bad enough them forcing riders to only ride in 3 countries. SteveLyric2
I think its more an issue for Peterboro's Sunday meetings, but well done Matt - if a little late in the day!!! This should have been the BSPA stance as soon as the Polish rules were announced. Not sure who else it may affect other than the 3 GP riders?!
Aces51
How many rides is Jack Holder likely to get in Poland?

remembertheracers
The Polish club want Jack Holder for his potential. Poole give him the experience but the Poles wont. Well done Matt Ford.

I think it's to cover everyone, and all clubs should stick together on this. the potential is always there to lose a rider any night of the week for rearranged fixtures in Poland
Buttons
Matt Ford takes a lot of stick on here, but well done to him on his stance with Poland, it's just a pity none of the other Promotions haven't taken the same stance, all the promotions need to stick together on this.
acef
The only mistake made here is that not every promotion refused to sign it. We are what we are, and by that I mean the bottom nation for hosting the sport, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't have a backbone.
Woz01
I'm with Matt Ford on this, fair play to him.
Daniel Smith
While what Matt says is what everyone is thinking, I do wonder if this is another stab at the Holder name as Chris made it quite clear there were issues behind the scenes last season. OveFundinFan
If that ia the case why would he sign Jack Holder for this year?
foamfence
If a non-Polish rider misses British fixtures because of this ruling, he should only be replaced with a NL rider. That ruling alone would make promoters more discerning about who they sign and it might make some riders (particularly non-EU) think twice, after the complexities of gaining clearance to spend their European season as Polish based riders. Another possibility is that riders who start their league career in Britain, should be required to sign a commitment to Britain above Poland, at least for a given period of eg. 5yrs. (as the Poles wouldn't entertain bringing in unknown riders, that would counter this Polish action).
robert72
How many rides is Jack Holder likely to get in Poland? Which polish team does Danny King race for ?
mtommo
never been a matt ford fan but got to agree with him on this one fair play to him its a shame a few more promoters don't do the same as him
Agrotron
Yeah fair play to Ford on this one, other promoters are just spineless and pussies.
Aces51
I agree with Ford's stand. However, it is much easier to do it with a rider like Jack Holder, who may not even get a ride in Poland and who is likely, at this point in his career, to earn far more in the UK, than it would be, for example, with Chris Holder, who is likely to ride fir his team in every Polish fixture and earn considerably more there. Again, at the moment, Chris is a much bigger draw card here than Jack and much more difficult to replace. If we are going to make a stand I think we should have agreed it before team building began and not signed riders who were going to be affected by the Polish restriction nor any Polish riders.
racers and royals
Everyone saying that the promoters should have stood upto Poland this winter, then if they had done the following riders would not be riding in the Premiership this season(probably no TV coverage as well) C Holder F Lindgren J Doyle M Fricke and Possibly J Thorssell There is no way that any of the top 4 listed would have choosen Britain over Poland
OveFundinFan
Is that true (probably no TV coverage) or is it your opinion? I dont think that TV speedway depends on 4 or 6 riders. British speedway is down in the dumps, what it doesnt want is other nations treading on us thus making it difficult for us to stand up again. Steve Shovlar
Its quite clear that the bspa should have stood up as ond to say no to this rule. A rider has obligations to the club hehas signed to and whoss fixture is logged first. If a Polish meeting is re-arranged for a day when the Riders British club has a fixture, tough on the Poles. No fascility should be granted for riders missing British fixtures for re-arranged fixtures. I am telescoping some of tonights forum. Lets see what Matt says about this rule.
