andys
An enjoyable first meeting of the season, young Connor will score points as he learns the track, certainly no questioning his aggression and commitment, all the top five were excellent and it'll take a good team to match them this season. topsoil
It's been a while since Berwick posted a good score at Brough Park and I didn't expect much last night, but from what I've seen so far (very early I know, but I'm also basing it on the finish to last year), Newcastle are going to be right up there this season. A lot might depend on how often our 1-7 will take to the track together, though, a bit like last season. I have have to admit I haven't looked at any possible fixture clashes (something I've been meaning to do for a week or so!), but hopefully, they will be at a minimum in 2017. The same did go through my head, as this cost Newcastle on numerous occasions last season, but I would have thought the promotion would have tried to minimise fixture clashes this season. Mad Max
So a 20 point win - were we good, or Berwick poor, or a mixture? Personally I think it is more down to Berwick being poor and really we should be racking up a much higher win, but I have serious concerns about the make up of our team, to me we are going to struggle if any one of lambert/Worrall/Rose has an off night! I hope to be proved wrong but the reserves will struggle to beat anyone of note, especially away, - Berwick came with three reserve standard riders and they scored 4 points!! Sorry - at the moment its a half empty glass for me!

If last years regs were still in place ( i.e. min 3 pt ave. Newcastle would be on 41.
