Chadster
If I'm asked about what attracted me to speedway I initially mention the sensations; the noise, the smell, if I'm honest being frightened, but also the bright primary colours of the race-jackets against the black leathers of the riders. The designs were clean and simple, so many modern race-jackets/race suits are over cluttered and badly designed. Recent Belle Vue race suits are a case in point, not a patch against the classic design.

cityrebel
Used to like race jackets and my favourites were the likes of Wenbley, Belle Vue, West Ham and dare to say the early 'Rebels' jacket of Oxford...of which I have a replica!i have two original oxford rebels race jackets in my collection, plus three different white city rebels. My west ham london jacket from 1967-71 has to be my favourite. It took me nearly a lifetime to get an original!
salty
Halifax and the Sheffield Tigers were my favourite race jackets. Halifax I'll give you Sid, but Sheffield? My memory of theirs in the late 60's and early 70's was a dull blue and yellow chequerboard or quarters. Got better later on when they put a Tiger on it.

But for some reason we used the tigers head for at least some away matches if my memory serves me correctly

OGT
A big red "B" on a bright yellow background, does exactly what it says on the tin race jacket.
cyclone
The early sixties Monarchs white crown on yellow & blue halves was naturally my favourite. The black Maltese Cross on an orange background of New Cross was a distinctive simple design.

Recall Gordon wearing a strange variation of the 'Rebels' jacket in 1974 (he posed in it for publicity purposes) which was silver and a cross that was red and blue with stars if I recall. Not sure if he ever wore it competition however.
