mdmc82
I know we are all hurting and everything feels negative at the moment but the worst thing we can do is give up. We know we won't be racing this year which is a huge blow but we need to do all we can to try and make sure this isn't the end for good. The Coventry Observer are the first to openly take action. They have started a campaign to save Coventry Speedway. https://coventryobserver.co.uk/?p=45969 Twitter quote: First Save Our Bees story going up tonight at 7.30pm. An interesting read. The campaign to get the Bees back on track has started! #SOB Edited February 27, 2017 by mdmc82

SCB
Obvious who Harris trusts and believe and it's not Horton and co https://coventryobserver.co.uk/news/exclusive-bees-legend-chris-harris-backs-s-o-b-campaign-and-praises-former-owner-sandhu/ He doesn't mention not trusting Horton 🤔 He says he trusts Sandhu and Colin Pratt. All the hints coming from those in the know suggest the issue is Brandon Estates.
False dawn
This is the most worthwhile of causes. I want the Bees back as much as anyone. Be careful people, please. Let's not take sides just yet till ALL the facts are known. Conclusions are not accurate just because someone proclaims them as the truth. The experience so far is that the people who really know what's going on, are the ones who are saying the least.

Riders are bound to trust Sandhu because let's be honest when he owned us he was damn good at it. Since he sold the club and stadium I'm not sure he has the same motivation for speedway as he did then. I'm willing to be convinced that he still cares though as I do believe IF his intentions are actually good then the club can still come back and thrive. Some think that some of this was about getting rid of Horton I'm starting to think that's a possibility As for the campaign I absolutely back this, the journalist who started this is a Bees fan so you know his intentions are good. We should also back Jeff Davies and Dave Rowe who are trying to help us to run in 2018 Edited February 28, 2017 by woz01

Woz01
I'm all for the campaign, but without wishing to sound negative, how are we going to run and where. Well this is the sticking point but we as fans have to make it difficult as possible for the site owners. If rumours are correct that they are willing to sell it shows that it's already working.

speedibee
Just like Cradley , Long Eaton , and all the others , people will clutch at straws in vain hope , sadly this was always going to happen ,once a greedy property developer and proven liar got involved . 2 or 3 years of begging and pleading against people who have their moral compass set at me and my bank balance , and stand and protest as the bulldozers move in to see them achieve their greedy ambitions , while councillers make positive noises about a new future elsewhere but then go back to their offices and forget all about it ,, do yourselves a favour walk away with the memories of 88 great years and save yourself the frustration heartache and struggle , I most certainly will , but good luck to those who wish to put themselves through it
Fred5
Very sad to hear that the Bees will not be riding this season. Good luck to all the fans and hope to see you back on track soon.

That was in 2005 - there followed several years of activity with possible venues mentioned. Then, as time progresses, it all died down. It's easy to generate enthusiasm for a cause in its early days - sadly, over time that evaporates as people realise nothing is being achieved. To say 'lets find a new base' is easy enough - it's actually finding such a place and more importantly finding the money to finance it. I have had an interest in Coventry happenings since the legendary and speedway great Jack Parker brought them back into the sport in 1948. I find it very sad that at the present time the club is no more. TBH I wish the campaign to keep Coventry speedway alive all success but also have reservations as to its success. Let's hope I am proved wrong.
Gemini
He is part of the BSPA board who pulled the plug on Coventry Bees. Oh yes and he loved being sacked by Mick when he took over. No axe to grind there.
