foamfence
Same in Manchester, Birmingham, Leicester, etc etc etc... As the ethnicity of major cities has changed and in particular those areas in the immediate vacinity of a Speedway track, hardly anything has been done to attract the 'Asian' locals.. The majority population on your doorstep but nothing done to get them to attend..? Seems a strange business plan.. Even more so when you consider the culture of motor cycle riding on the sub continent, and the well above average number of kids in an Asian family.. They used to visit schools in Bradford and bring busloads of kids to meetings but it rarely proved to be habit forming for any of them. tyke
If England played a Cricket Match against Pakistan they would fill the place to overflowing. Just saying......................... :D They tried that at Headingley, Club only sold 25% of tickets for each day. Cost them about £1m Just saying ...................... Edited March 5, 2017 by tyke

If someone cleans their windows in the Highfields area of Leicester then that will attract a good audience. Cheap 'people'.

steve roberts
You from Leicester Long Eye? We need an Asian rider, that would pak them in! Remember the White City promotion talking about how a West Indian rider may have attracted a largely West Indian community (Shepherd's Bush) from attending the speedway...of course nothing came of it and I believe that West Indians and Asians don't see watching sport (other than cricket) as high on their radar must do! keef robin
Then they would have had to include an Irish rider as well to satisfy the local population.

Yup the Indian Premier League and other T20 is played out in front of one man and a dog rather than crods of up to 100,000.

Very true, Cricket is almost a religion, I can't quite see Speedway getting to that level.
