stevehone
Good for them they didn't get the heavy rain that swept along the south coast. I have to give you credit for being perceptive, you're totally correct that Kings Lynn is NOT on the south coast. BUT, I believe Kings Lynn DID get the heavy rain that swept across the east coast
Danny Connor
This time of year moisture rises up through tracks. It doesn't have to be raining. Just cold. It's the problem with early meetings. I'm not one to defend Poole though. Lynch them regardless !
rocketman77
I think that should be the last uk meeting for darcy ward in the uk.
Triple.H.
i think you will find that Matt did not put this meeting on it was done by Darcy's Foundation. If that's the case a good jester by Matt for reduced admission on wedsI've always found him funnyBut never as funny as Steve Shovlar's slagging of everything Non-Poole
KN1
Belle Vue was a new track and the unknown how it would react, Poole has been there for years and still doesn't get any better. My guess is Matt isn't paying out for track work as he won't be there to benefit from it. So if it stopped raining on Thursday morning before a Friday evening meeting, I'd suggest you need new track staff. Had the Young Stars P&P on Wednesday, absolutely threw it down with rain, but Buster said if it stops he'll take the surface off so the team could get laps in. Instead we came back on Thursday and the track was perfect pity he didn't have the same attitude when team gb was there steve, as you know he wanted to cancel the first day with the lads not getting on track till 4pm due to pressure from them. with beautiful weather as well on the day and the day before. and many a kl fan have been saying on here for the past two years the kl track is not what it was. this is not condoning the mess we had last night but get a bit sick of hearing how good buster and kl track is when it too has problems. racers and royals
Good for them they didn't get the heavy rain that swept along the south coast. Holder was interviewed on tv tonight in Torun and stated that there was so much moisture in the track and as the meeting went on the moisture came out and the track got very spongy. Nothing the track staff could do about it as it was cold so they had to stop. I watched the same live interview, and I felt he was really having to hold back on not saying what he really wanted to say about the whole fiasco last evening. Steve Shovlar
its a pity holder didn't put it like that last night rather than team up with doyle and ward on the phone. I thought he acted pretty poorly to be honest. He seemed to be wanting to have a go at Matt Ford in front of everyone by talking out loud to Darcy on the phone and everyone could listen in. You obviously have a much better idea about what was going on than us in the grandstands.
phillipsr
It's probably not necessary but here's a link to the Poole forum about the meeting. Some seriously unhappy people and rightfully so. I feel so sorry for the travelling fans especially the Poles who were apparently raging outside the office. Even Starman has gone sheepish! My passion has been seriously affected yet again and I am not being treated like a dirty dog anymore. I am a human being, not a number. http://poolespeedway.2288420.n4.nabble.com/Darcy-Ward-Benefit-Meeting-td4702235i40.html Interesting reading ive long thought Darcy comes across as ungrateful

ouch
You've gotta love shovlar. It's not so much miss reading the room as burning it down and making a diamond encrusted axe that is then used to bludgeon to death orphans and O.A.P's there to raise money for cancer research. He really is the gift that keeps on giving.
ray c
It just shows you even Starman not defending the poole promotion anymore.the track as been awful for year's and seems nothing is ever done about it surely this is a wake call to sort it out. Even if it means calling of a couple meeting to do so just my opinion q
Dornier
The band wagons not big enough for Starman to join.
Halifaxtiger
Good for them they didn't get the heavy rain that swept along the south coast. Isle of Wight did. They held a training session on Thursday night. Lets give Matt Ford a bit of credit for accepting the situation and allowing something - I suspect that whatever he had done wouldn't have suited everyone - and hope that Mr Shovlar isn't able to persuade him that payments for 'charity events' are in fact donations. ArthurRudge
A disappointment all around and from what I read a few posts back of Giles saying to officials get these fools out I wouldn't be surprised if that person never returned I certainly wouldn't. The track was a joke it should of been called off and re staged obviously the track man new it was in a state right? Was there actually any track work done prior to the meeting, if so why was the dirt not scraped off top surface another professionally organised meeting its an embarrassment quite frankly. Refunds should obviously be made to them which want them why wouldn't they..
chris4gillian
I see the Poole gobsh1te is still at it. For once just give it a rest Shovlar as you make a lot of us ashamed that your associated with our club. foamfence
Anyone interested in DW and what he said about Friday and his lifestyle then go to DW racing FB and watch his interview, He is a foul mouthed plonker. He was as good a rider as I ever saw but he has a dark side and it still shows if you don't agree with everything he says, as I found after a few messages between us.
