Are Speedway Riders Of Today, Alot Taller Than 30 Years'ish Ago?

Recommended Posts

When you see riders like Patrick Hougaard, Niels K Iversen, Chris Holder, etc... Are riders taller than in the old days? I know Michael Lee was leggy, but the Morans, Penhall, PC, Dave Jessup, Steve Scofield, Greg Hancock, Ian Turner etc, all seem tiny in comparison to todays racers....?

maybe cos they eat more greens, and definitely don't smoke as much as they did in the past ;)

Most people are taller than the old days so answer is probably .....

cos not as many kids are sent down in mines, or up chimneys, or have too 'head to toe' these days,,, so there's not so much need to be small,,, evolution maybe :),,, dunno how it works with jockeys tho, but then again most of them are Irish, so maybe the leprechaun blood lines remain strong :(
