Guest GiveusaB
Are Jason Doyle and Chris Holder (when he can be bothered) the only 2 riders worth the entrance fee this season? No disrespect intended to anybody else, but who really is worth watching this season? As a neutral to the Prem League, there's no BIG draws imo ? Crazy robin
Always enjoyed the days when Swindon were in the lower league with real racers, not just gate & go like today. The fee to watch is what teams need to survive & although too much for me I will be giving it a go. There will be some races that are well strung out but that has always been the case in recent seasons.
B.V 72
Its not always the top riders that produce the best races in a meeting.I saw some really great races involving all the aces last season and some great races watching the colts. So for me most of the riders are worth watching.

I agree. The speedway I saw last year at the NSS was worth every penny of the entrance fee. I looked forward to seeing the likes of Holder and Doyle but in truth it was riders like Steve Worrall, Joe Jacobs and Matt Williamson who were just as often involved in some of the best races as Zagar or Cook.

To me, its more a question of whether the racing is worth the money, not the riders. Even if the riders are brilliant if the racing is rubbish its not worth a light. As to whether the racing is worth the money, that depends where you go. I'd say if you want value try Scunthorpe, Belle Vue, Isle Of Wight, Lakeside, Poole, Cradley & Workington for starters.

KK, Lambert, Harris, Bewley, Smith, Fricke, J Holder, Lebedevs, Garritty, plenty of riders I would look forward to seeing race. Add to tgat any meeting at the NSS. And looking forward to seeing top flight action at Somerset. My concern is more that the change in heat format will mean the racing isn't as good as last year.
SCB
I love watching the big names, I'm quite a snob and would pick GP and EL over NL every time but whenever I tell of two of my favourite races they come 1 from the CL (now NL) between Scott Peglar and Jon Armstrong in heat 13 of a Newport vs Mildenhall meeting and the other was heat 2 of a PL meeting in 1999 between Newports Bobby Eldridge and Berwicks Freddie Stephenson. So actually, you don't need names. While they're great they're not the be all and end all. And how anyone can not enjoy watching the list of riders waihekeaces1 has just listed I do not know. Could probably add a few more too.

You missed out grand prix rider Freddie Lindgren.
Gavan
3 top class number ones in Doyle , Holder and Lindgren shows how the league is weaker but that doesnt mean you get poor racing. Look at some of the rides Joe Jacobs used to produce at the NSS last season.
EnglishRoundabout
I'd say the entrance fee at Somerset is worth the money. 90% of the meetings I saw there last season had terrific racing with numerous passing.
waytogo28
Robert Lambert is the rider who is worth the entrance money at KL. And his is no slouch at "having a go" anywhere else either!
Owenbros
If you have a good racing surface with dirt on it, the majority of which is still there at the end of the meeting, you will have good racing. What you don't want is blue line racing. The NSS track is well prepared and that's why ALL riders have a chance.

We don't need big named riders to see good racing, and if the racing is good that's all that matters

For me you get better racing from riders and teams that are evenly matched. Yes I love to see the top riders out on track doing there stuff, but give me 4 evenly matched riders in a heat from any league and you always seem to get a good race. Clive Ward
Robert Lambert is the rider who is worth the entrance money at KL. And his is no slouch at "having a go" anywhere else either!I quite agree, it cost £17 pounds to watch kl last year and there wasn't a meeting that went by when Robert wasn't worth the admission money on his own.

Didn't see one pass all evening. Will give it another go this season. Coventry was a good racers track.
gazzac
Is £13 worth it for Brummies fans watching 3rd tier speedway when Bees fans could be watching Premiership riders for £12.50 if they take up the season ticket offer? Slightly ironic post now, but if you asked any Brummie fan last year the answer would be 'Yes'. Winning team with 7 riders trying their hearts out, both the Jack's were brilliant to watch when I saw them. This is coming from an Eastie fan by the way , not a die hard Brummie!
