The White Knight
Northern League Barnsley, Belle Vue, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leicester Super, Liverpool, Newcastle (Gosforth), Preston, Rochdale, Sheffield, Warrington, White City Manchester, Wombwell Actually that raises an interesting point to me. Wombwell is part of Barnsley today. Were there two seperate Teams in those days (1930)? Or - were Barnsley and Wombwell one and the same Team? Genuine question. Hi, Your comments on Wombwell (S.Yorks) running in '64 & '65 is interesting as that was news to me. Are you able to shine any light on the number of meetings (and dates) that took place ? Thanks

Thanks This may just help you in regard to activity at Wombwell in 1964 and 1965, but sadly it's the briefest of mentions in the DEFUNCT SPEEDWAYS thread on the track. Just a few words in the introduction paragraph but no other resume of the 1960s. And nothing at all in regard to the years this thread is debating. http://www.defunctspeedway.co.uk/Wombwell.htm Edited February 17, 2017 by Guest
