So, I just checked the stats, and Grubmuller actually has better figures than Funk! Didn't realise that... Came with a good reputation but didn't last long over here, probably a couple of months if that. I certainly can't remember what points he scored if any, maybe he was homesick or didn't like the lifestyle overhere. Hey im kasey and bill was my uncle. He fell sick with insomnia and bipolar and got to angry and sick to ride. He still watches speedway and goes to the local shows in our home town Adelaide. It was quite sad because he has said many times speedway was all he had and his trophies were his life but I think hes getting on pretty well as hes older

Shame he never rode again in Britain after that (His wife gave birth to twins if I remember). Never saw Conny ride but remember my brother saying that he was less than impressive round Cowley but a revelation on some of the bigger circuits (Swindon and Coventry for example). Another rider who never re-appeared in Britain and I'm surprised some enterprising promoter didn't give him a second chance. He excelled at Ice Speedway and appeared twice (?) on the rostrum in the World Championship in that particular discipline. Conny Samuelsson was track record holder at Brandon at one stage
