DutchGrasstrack
Thats just not right, the last bit. Practice just finished. Smoli and Dudek on Russian bikes. Not sure about Cook. Vaculik had no bikes in the pits and didn't practice.
topaz325
Crazy situation when riders not able to ride on their own bikes, they may have their own engines but still not right.
DutchGrasstrack
Few pics from practice on the FIM facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/FIMTrackRacing/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1239207066184403
Emo259
Thanks for sharing DutchGrasstrack, any other impressions from training? Did all bar Vaculik train?
spanner47
Half way through practice and messrs Morris, Castagna and Durno are having problems communicating. They've been asking for the track to be ripped up, but so far all they did was rip a small section up. Phil Morris even showed them what he meant by ripping it up, no one wants a white line meeting and unless they improve the track this afternoon, that's what we'll get. Last words I heard from Armando when leaving the jury room were " you've had two days to sort out this rubbish", he wasn't a happy man. Apart from the VIP section seats are £5-8, programmes £1-30. The riders weren't the only ones Having problems getting here, but in a way that was a blessing, as there's sod all to do here anyway, except drink drink or drink. f-s-p
I'm no expert, but if a track has been hard and flat for a decade, ripping it up and making it different in three hours is not gonna work.
OveFundinFan
Why send racers to a rubbish track hundreds of miles away in a corrupt country such that some of the racers just taking an engine. This is an important meeting and even world championship organisers can make a complete and utter mess by the sound of it. Not just British speedway that has a problem then.

Perhaps a test regarding the possibility of a future GPS? 2. Nobody else was interested?
spanner47
When you look at a map it's bad enough, but speaking to lads that had to drive it this morning it's worse than I thought. As driving through Ukraine or Belarus is a no no, you have to head north and go via Lithuania and Latvia, thus putting a lot more mileage on your journey. Kai Huckenbreck's van left on Tuesday. On the plus side I would imagine most of the others do have set ups in Poland, so not too bad for them, but still a very long drive. As my bus pulled into town last night the sign read "Moscow 980km".
Ghostwalker
There won't be a live stream. Not allowed by FIM. We'll see though. It still says live in 2 hours.

Wiseguy
So if Chuganov finishes in the top 3 today , he qualifies for next years GP series? Seems like a good young rider who had a great world cup but surely thats not right

PHILIPRISING
The same as Harris a few years ago... NOT sure that is a fair analogy ... Chris Harris has won a Grand Prix Edited August 19, 2017 by PHILIPRISING

Ghostwalker
NOT sure that is a fair analogy ... Chris Harris has won a Grand Pix Using double standard are we? Harris was knocked out in the first round but was seeded into the GPC ahead of everyone who finished ahead of him in the qualies QFs and SFs. It is exactly the same thing. Allot of British had no problem then and those should not have problem with the Russian getting seeded.
