Speedway28
Copying the thread in SGB Championship League, what do people expect from their sides in 2017? Mildenhall Dan Halsey- Should retain his average, possibly even improve slightly. Danno Verge- Think he'll find it tricky to begin with in the top 5 but he did well at Mildenhall last season, so expect him to at least hold his average at home. Connor Mountain- All depends on how well he recovers from his serious injury. Experience in the Championship will help so expect improvement again. Luke Ruddick- Tough going last year but looked like he may have turned a corner when dropped for Bebee/Jenkins. Sounds like Mildenhall are putting lots of effort into helping him off the track so his so far unfulfilled potential has a chance of showing this time out. Jon Armstrong- Clearly not just in the side for his points but his leadership of the youngsters. Didn't seem on top of his game but a lot of personal issues last year so will hopefully at least maintain his average this year. Sam Woods- Best option out there available at the moment. Expect one of him, Ruddick and Verge to make way if Bebee makes a successful return but looked ok when guesting against Eastbourne last year. Jordan Jenkins- Where to start? Fantastic few performances last year, massive potential. People will go to meetings just to watch him. Will be averaging between 6-8 at end of season. If Mildenhall can keep top 3 and Jenkins fit all season, they should comfortably be in play offs. The expected Belle Vue team sound like favourites, wouldn't rule out Eastbourne either. waco
Lakeside Ben Morley ,,a track expert here .will score big home and away.. Alfie Bowtell,,will need to get used to the tight bends at Lakeside ,to improve. David Mason ..Track will suit his style, will score well at home,,Away, will need to up his game considerably Zach Wajtknecht,,,,Hopefully will continue to improve and challenge Ben for the No 1 spot George Hunter Has potential and should be a solid scorer ,will need to steer clear of injuries Nick Laurence,,Been a makeshift reserve for several seasons .without showing much,,However has enough expe rience to get points against some of this seasons rookies No 6 ,Hopefully a 3 plus lad that will use the full quota of the points available If all goes to plan and with considerable home advantage,,,should make a top six side
Ommer Mon
Cradley Danny Ayres - Slight concern over his recovery from injury but no concern whatsoever over his enthusiasm and determination. A great showman and one to get the faithful buzzing. Tom Perry - Well we've got him so we're nailed on to win the League based on the last few seasons. A great passer. If only he could gate he would be the top man in NL. Dan Greenwood - Delighted to see him back. Very solid heat leader at this level and the potential to end up as Number 1 if he really gets his act together. Conor Dwyer - He's had some impressive moments and I think he could prove quite a shrewd signing. Luke Harris - Not too impressed two years ago but he does have ability and a good back up team from all accounts. Fingers crossed he steps up. Ryan Burton - A very good reserve. He has looked promising when I've seen him. Joe Lawlor - The one many teams wanted. Obvious promise and nailed on for double figures at Buxton! What is it about that place? Over all if they stay fit (and nobody does a Kingston) I think we will make the play offs. From there you just have to take your chances. Pity we will have to split our fixtures and I feel that could count against us especially if the Dog Heads reach the Play Offs too. Away teams tend not to like Monmore which gives us an advantage!
pete cc
Nobody yet has predicted which of their young riders will grow a beard first.

pete cc
It is the modern thing. A few years ago beards were on old men drinking real ale. Now its young men drinking crap coffee from very small cups & paying a fiver for the pleasure.
TurnTwo
Eastbourne 1. Mark Baseby - on his day can beat any rider in this league however I feel his equipment may not be up to the job to be an out and out number 1. I think 5 will suit him better. Very good team rider mind you. 2. Kelsey Dugard - bags of potential can definitely put 2 points on his starting average I expect him to finish on a 6.5 avg he can be very good round Eastbourne just needs to show that form at other tracks. Just hope his mind doesn't wonder when the team needs him. 3. Connor Coles - His equipment worries me however I reckon the Dugard's have that sorted. He's riding pl and nl the expirence will do him wonders. I fully expect him to be pushing top 20 of the averages and put at least a point on his starting average as he's a very good gater. 4. Adam Extance - I don't know much about this signing but I see a lot of people are saying he could be the nxt best thing if he hits the ground running. A year out of the sport could make him or break him. Did some research on him he seems like he's an all rounder motorcyclist hopefully will score well can see him and Dugard switching places occasionally between 2 & 4. 5. Georgie Wood - this rider is my one to watch he's put 2 points on his average each season for the past 2. He rides Eastbourne completely differently to anybody else in the fact he rarely makes a start but gets quicker and quicker a bit like James Shanes except Georgie has a much nicer riding style. Fully expect him to take no.1 race jacket and book a place in nlrc. 6. Charley Powell - very good gater for a rookie. Still feel he lacks the speedway style from his grasstrack conversion. Saw him pass boxhall on the grasstrack last year and made it look natural. If he can do that with his speedway and crash less then I think he will get better. 7. Tom Brennan - a pedigree rider has won all youth apart from the 500 class albeit finishing second. Very natural, once out in front riders like tom perry couldn't catch him. He rode a 5-1 with Adam Ellis. As long as he stays injury free I expect him to be in the main body by the end of the season. I think this team will comfortably make top 4. Then the home track advantage to carry them to the finals and potentially even win the league.

blueherb777
Kent Kings. 1. Bowen - One of the best No 1`s in the NL.Should be able to keep his average up.Will he get ENOUGH support from rest of team is the question. 2. Clifton - No doubt suffered from injuries last season and I think found it harder than he expected on his comeback. No doubt able to increase his average if learned a lot from last season. 3. Stoneman - Probably the big risk in the team as this year as he is a Heat leader and is expected to score well.Still young and interesting to see if he continues in the right direction. 4. Thomas - Really made great strides last season for someone so young.Trouble is he will be in main body of team so will find things harder.Great prospect though. 5. Hopwood - (Nailed on signing) Absolute steal on his average. Can put a couple of points on that.Key will be if he can score well throughout season. 6. Andrews - Still very young and will have learnt a lot last season.Got incentive of proving people wrong and seems very determined from his SS article. 7. Rowe - Kid straight in the deep end.If shows same desire and ability as Thomas could surprise. Overall I cannot see this team being anywhere near as good as last season.Ayres and Shanes are a VERY big act to follow.I expect the team to be around 6th - 7th unless the youngsters in the team really kick on. Then again NP predicted Kings to finish bottom last season !
