Sgb Logos - Your Vote Please!

Who on earth - apart from a relatively small fan base - knows what SGB is??

And even with that small fanbase - why is it even relevant that they should know what it means?

Its SPEEDWAY with specialist MOTORCYCLES that needs to be communicated!! I'm no designer but its not rocket science is it?!

The BSPA are 'control freaks' who despite quoting transparency and fan involvement, simply don't want to go with something that wasn't 'their initial idea'!!

Its like going into a lap dancing club and being told you only have 3 dancers to choose from - apparently!! :-)

Why does a logo have to say what it is? Nike do very well with just a tick mark as do thousands of other brands. The logo will always be with something else which will show it's for speedway. Juts look up famous logos on google, it's always a good quiz round

As 'brand awareness' goes.

You speak of Nike and Speedway in the same breath.

Astonishing.

As John Leslie pointed out the majority of people in this country would think SCB is the logo of a scaffolding company, that is why it needs to have a bike on it or mention Speedway.

As someone else said they should have put out a request for fans etc to submit entries then put the best few to a vote, as whatever the bspa do seems always to go wrong.

The first logo is probably the best out of the three and at the moment seems to have the highest vote, but even that one is not good.

I agree. A logo is designed to provide brand awareness and is a way to consistent present your company. Very few logos actually even hint at what the company does.

The current SGB logos are pretty similar to the PDC darts logos, that said it is better than logo number one which is basically Word Art. The fact that it is proving the most popular so far is scary because it is pretty much something a child could have created on Microsoft Word 98.

But there is no point just having a logo that the majority who see it have no idea what it stands for.

I have often seen companies spend tens of thousands showing logos at sporting events that very few have an idea who the company is or what it does. The same with adverts at sporting events shown on tv, some of the adverts do not stand out and cannot be read easily.

When the public dont know what SGB is, they need to be shown with the picture of a bike and/or rider. So even though option 1 is Wordart, at least it shows people what they're supposedly promoting! And saying brands like Premier League don't have a football on isn't a comparison because the Premier League is an established brand that people already know what it is from the name. McDonald's doesn't need a picture of a burger. The same cannot be said from soeedway's initials!

It can only be option One because the vast majority of people who see Two or Three won't know which sport it's marketing. S could mean almost anything to the non speedway fan ( Softball ) Surfing, Ski-ing etc etc. And yes, none of them are much good or very up to date looking. Love the tongue in cheek S.U.K. ( is it tongue in cheek?)

It looks an interesting Link - but is in a language on a site that does not appear to have a translating option. Can you please let me know what it's all about? Thank you.

Looks like an old site for this guy

More known for his crazy hair than his riding at the moment

As this as been such an exciting SGB competition, and I am sure there have been many thousands of entries (!!!!!!), I doubt that a result will be published on their site until tomorrow morning.
