There must have been a massive response to the SGB's motif competition. It closed more than two days ago...Tuesday lunchtime and as this message is sent it's early Thursday evening.

Any Result yet?

...no results known as yet. It looks as though the SGB staff may still counting...

Friday, December 23 - the latest news items have been posted on the SGB website but no sign as yet of a 'logo vote result.' One must suppose that counting continues due to a flood tide of entries! :icon_smile_clown:

Or they have been reading this forum and having a rethink re the design

It looks like a mix of Option 2 and option 3 has been selected with the Gold, Silver and Blue options for Prem, Champs and National respectively. One or 2 clubs have begun to use them especially NL for which its less of an issue.

Despite 58% of just under 1000 votes opting for Option One!! I do love a bit of transparency and fan involvement!!!

That's an interesting Post on your part and IMO much appreciated Skidder1. If that's the case, and the BSPA/SGB have made the choice you indicate, IMO shame on them for not SO FAR publicising the result.

I notice that the original page with the various options and the details of the vote itself has been taken down.

The votes clearly favoured the dire option 1.

But the newer pages and usage elsewhere shows that the option adopted is none of those offered.

It is a bastardised version of option 2.

And is dreadful.

It's bloody Boatymacboatface all over again.

I see what you mean Grand Central. The OP Link which gave details of the 'grand competition' are no longer be seen - so far as I can trace - any more. Nothing seems to been the BSPA?SGB website now about the competition (unless I am missing something). I tried that original Link and just had a message about all the latest speedway news.

I daresay that in the fulness of time there will be some clarification from the competition organisers as to what is happening. Iris that too much to expect?

I had to laugh that Speedway Star even dared to cast aspersions on the poor logos adopted.

So they must be really bad.

Peter Oakes took the trouble to copy a couple of quotes from Twitter mocking them.

This must be evidence of the hard-hitting, fearless journalism we can expect in 2017 from the bitingingly independent minded Star.

More importantly what did they say about the Warsaw GP Court case ?

What do you think?

Let's give them the benefit of the doubt though.

And pretend it did not meet their deadline.

I expect to see a double-page spread on it and it's implication next week.

Along with full details of the lawyers acting so that their hundreds of readers affected worldwide may be able to join the action and gain recompense.

The logo means very little, Aldi, Tesco, Easyjet are not exactly design masterpieces, they just got the product right, even the most famous in Motorsport, F1 has no mention of the Sport, but we instantly recognise it.

SGB stands for Speedway Good Bye, and the flashes on the logo are the supporters cars driving away from the Sport.

PS. Anyone want some GTR engines cheap? Cash only, no vat, you couldn't make it up.
