SCB
So the buggers at the the BSPA turned down Tai Woffindens request for a 10 year testimonial. Why? Maybe because he's only managed 8.25 seasons in the last 10 seasons! Maybe if he rode in 2017 and 2018 they're be happy to gloss over it not being 10 consecutive seasons but my God, he's pushing his luck and the complain about it.... Well!!! If CVS wanted him to have a meeting that much and Tai wants to ride in a meeting over here that much then why not just let him promote his own one off "Tai Woffinden spectacular" at Wolves anyway? Just pay tax on it.
Popular Post Daniel Smith
I'm a huge Woffinden fan but I fully agree with the BSPA stance to not allow a Testimonial Right decision
steve roberts
Testimonial Meetings became/is a bit of a joke really. It should be 10 years spent at one track (or at least with the same promotion). Benefit meetings, however, are another matter.
SCB
News just in. Tomasz Gollob has been awarded a 20 year testimonial as 2017 will be the 20th season since he signed for Ipswich!
Popular Post New Science
To be fair if he did have a testimonial It would be his only scheduled appearance in the country next year. If you can't be bothered to ride in the British Final, refuse to ride for Team GB in the World Cup,,choose not to ride in the British League , pull the plug on your training schools , then to jet in for a testimonial when it suits you is the ultimate mickey take. A truly exiled World Champion who gives nothing to British speedway because he couldn't get his own way but now wants to take something out ! Unbelievable
happyvalleywoolerman
May be what happens next is he sees there is no good feel in England for him and he goes and knocks on Mark Lemons door.

uk_martin
Maybe what happens next is what always happens in speedway. The situation deteriorates from childish to infantile. What else do you expect?

SCB
May be what happens next is he sees there is no good feel in England for him and he goes and knocks on Mark Lemons door. And how exactly would British Speedway lose out if he does that? As it is, he won't get paid for riding for Australia and he won't get a testimonial for the Australian league so he doesn't gain anything switching either. Gunner85
A testimonial is meant for 10 consecutive years riding so Tai's time slot does not qualify. Simple really !!!!
Popular Post dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
I see his piece states that 'he hopes the decision can be revisited in the future' I agree that it should - when he has returned and completed 10 consecutive seasons starting from scratch.
The Cheese
"I have no choice but to accept the decision, even though it has robbed the British public of the chance to see me in action. It's not about financial reward or anything like that; I just wanted to stage a meeting of celebration." Seriously? Nobody has said he can't have a 'meeting of celebration' just that he can't have a testimonial which is clearly the correct decision. If he wants the British public to see him then I'm sure he'd be welcome at Peter Karlsson's farewell meeting, celebrating a true legend of the sport.
mdmc82
Great news. Why should he have one when he isn't dedicated to British speedway
ouch
After he pulled out of the British Final last year I said it has robbed the British public of the chance to see him in action. Even though the money wasn't great I said it's not about financial reward or anything like that. He wouldn't change his mind so I had no choice but to accept the decision. Shame all that wasted merchandise for the Tai Woffinden Awesome Testimonial.
Grand Central
On many threads I have been accused of being negative regarding decisions made by the BSPA. I now want to shout from the rooftops. WELL DONE BSPA! What a pillock that lad can be.
foamfence
I will make no other comment except that this is the right decision.

SCB
Ive been thinking. Tai is clearly upset the British fans won't get to see him so he'll obviously be riding in the British Final. And in the SWC at Kings Lynn. Wouldn't want to upset the fans!
