Belle Vue / Coventry Nl

As far as I can see, Christopher Morton still owns Belle Vue Speedway, even if in name only.

I don't believe that we have reached the stage in this country where a company that has not been declared insolvent or gone into administration can be taken off it's apparently legal owner just because people don't like the way it's being run.

With this in mind, surely Chris Morton is involved in the negotiations for the future of Belle Vue Speedway and if it can be shown that the unfortunate events that led to the club's current predicament were outside his control, then his involvement may well continue.

You was round his house for a brew not long ago dIddnt you say on another thread. So why don't you ask him if he is still involved because I'd love for Chris to still be involved. Aces legend through and through.

Slight misquote there, P the A.

I went round the corner to Mr Morton's house as I was concerned about his well-being after hearing tales on here about his house being re-possessed and I wanted to reassure myself that it wasn't so.

I didn't knock on the door and seek an invitation to partake of a beverage but I did observe that Chris was still in residence and his Rentruck car was still parked on the drive.

Chris Morton has been one of my heroes since the beginning of time and will always remain so.

Chris Morton still appears to be the owner of Belle Vue Speedway Limited and I would love to think that there is some way that Chris will continue to be involved with speedway whether it be at Belle Vue, Buxton or wherever.

Crying shame if he isn't, regardless of what happened last season.

Be a good team, wouldn't go as far as great thou.

If the team named by Phil the Ace is to be the Colts side this season, it will one of the most exciting and attractive line ups I have ever seen anywhere.

5 of our best young riders, three 15 year olds and average age under 20. I'd seriously consider buying a Colts season ticket to watch that.

Never mind buying a season ticket, you don't fancy buying a stadium do you?

One careful owner, low mileage, HPI clear.

Dib into your pension, it would be worth it!

:D

My pension would probably cover the starting gate :(

I may be being uncharacteristically optimistic, but I have no doubt both the Aces and the Colts will run this season.

A lot of people are of the opinion that the Aces and the Cut 'n' Shuts will be running.

It must be bloody great to be so optimistic about things.

I envy you, I really do.

Think the Top flight fixtures are released this month, and there is no way that they can include Belle vue with no promoter.

So if Belle Vue fixtures are released I would say that there is a fair chance there is a new promotion on board.

Although it has been suggested elsewhere that as because the belle vue Aces name was stripped from the old promoters that it would have to be advertised publicly for tendor.

This is normally where we write "only in speedway" could a brand new facility potentially face the prospect of sitting empty, but look at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

The Ricoh currently has 3 clubs using it as it's home. Wasps Rugby, Wasps Netball and CCFC. It's also held Rugby League (international and club) and also Snooker in recent months. Edited by woz01

I for one hope that Chris Mort can be found a position in any BV setup in the future I watch him on many occasions working tirelessly to get the NSS built over a10yr period ,I saw him start at Elle Port and become one of the greatest riders this country has produced in modern times. IMO he deserves the support and respect of all s/way fans because we have one of the finest stadiums for our sport in the world thanks to his enormous efforts .

Does anyone else think that some of the promoters of the clubs in the National League are like vultures, circling over Belle Vue waiting for an opportunity to pounce. In my estimation five riders would be wanted by other clubs if Belle Vue don't run (Bewley, Shuttleworth, Payne, Bickley, Jack Smith who like most people I think that he'll choose Belle Vue, but if they don't get declared soon by Belle Vue, those five would fit into a lot of gaps in other teams. Interesting that not one rider has been confirmed anywhere since I.O.W. chose Rikki Mullins a few days ago.

not me , if it was a different club and the belle vue promotion were waiting to see if they could pick up one or two of the best prospects in british speedway wouldn't you think they were doing their job ?

besides just read that belle vue will be running a team with or without coventry's input so just enjoy the team announcements as it looks likely to be a corker.
