It appears there will be a change in the GP line up.

Stefan Pletschacher has withdrawn because of an injury recieved in Steingaden on Sunday. His place will be taken by Harald Simon

Has Stefan withdrawn from the full series or just the opening rounds?

EDIT: Answering my own question here. Just had information Pletschacher has a shoulder injury and will be having surgery so has ruled himself out of the series

8+2 through to the final that already had Timo Kankkunen, Tomi Tani, Matti Isoaho, Tomi Norola, Antti Aakko, Mats Järf, Jussi Nyrönen, Mikko Jetsonen and Miko Ronkainen seeded. Final is at Kauhajoki on Feb 25th. Mikko Jetsonen has declared himself unfit to ride this season, so 7+2 became 8+2 yesterday.

After the Basic 20 heat quali yesterday they rode a semi and a final between the top six. Thats why some sources have different results to mine.

Though this plays nicely in favour of me and my nightmares regarding the challenge later in the year, Weber apparently had some self-inflicted problems with paperwork...

Zorn didn't appear to be at Practice either as he's not in the group photo. Maybe Bauer and Simon were right to ride in Ufa last weekend after all!

Turns out Zorn was at Practice but didn't hang around for the group photos.

Conkers,, thanks for the update really appreciated. How was Zorn ? He always seems a tad nervous when taking on the Russians.

I don't think he's nervous, but the Russians do have the edge over him. They start training late November and their season starts in December, so they have six weeks advantage over the rest. Franky is still the best rider outside Russia, and looking at the results he managed a win over Dinar Valeev in Heat 20.

Reading the Russian Forum, they would really like Franky to race there in their league, as Harald Simon did.

Zorn was amazing and his gating is brilliant. Got first in the first corner final and held on to the second place for a little while. Russians are still the ice masters with Valeev as their next big new kid. Love his attacking no-fear riding style.
