Mark
Nicki is the only rider who agree`s with you, which is why last years 3 has been changed to his new ranking position of 12 Its complete nonsense. If riders are given an opportunity they will use it in most cases. Whoever had this bright idea needs their brain testing. Riders get enough branding opportunties through sponsors, they don't need a stupid number on there back.
OveFundinFan
This is ridiculous and I cannot fathom the reasoning behind it Much prefer 1-15 for ease of identification / position in table from last season etc. Dudek 692 - Jesus wept. Dudek wanted 69 but Doyle already has that, so........ 692 it is. Actually, I got used to the numbering last year. Its only like Moto GP and they been doing it for years.
BFMDan
I think what they're trying to do is allow the riders a bit of marketing "Branding" of themselves. I know their name is a straight forward enough brand (LOL), but a stylized version of their number becomes a very quick and visual representation of them as well. We see it over here in The States all the time. Started in Stock Car racing and has become a bit of the norm on two wheels, now, as well. HB This is ridiculous and I cannot fathom the reasoning behind it Much prefer 1-15 for ease of identification / position in table from last season etc. Dudek 692 - Jesus wept. Riding numbers confirmed-taken from SGP website 2017 FIM SPEEDWAY GRAND PRIX RIDER NUMBERS (in ranking order): 45 Greg Hancock (USA) 108 Tai Woffinden (Great Britain) 95 Bartosz Zmarzlik (Poland) 23 Chris Holder (Australia) 69 Jason Doyle (Australia) 777 Piotr Pawlicki (Poland) 85 Antonio Lindback (Sweden) 88 Niels-Kristian Iversen (Denmark) 55 Matej Zagar (Slovenia) 71 Maciej Janowski (Poland) 66 Fredrik Lindgren (Sweden) 12 Nicki Pedersen (Denmark) 692 Patryk Dudek (Poland) 54 Martin Vaculik (Slovakia) 89 Emil Sayfutdinov (Russia) SUBSTITUTES 25 Peter Kildemand (Denmark) 84 Martin Smolinski (Germany) 46 Max Fricke (Australia) Edited January 27, 2017 by Haybails
BFMDan
Hope ya'all don't mind a "Yankee" jumping in here with my thoughts. Some of this is based on recent performance, and some of it (admittedly so) is based on nothing more than a whim & a guess. 1.) Bartosz Zmarzlik 2.) Greg Hancock 3.) Tai Woffinden 4.) Antonio Lindback (if he can keep consistent) 5.) Jason Doyle HB Edited January 27, 2017 by Haybails
OveFundinFan
You identified the problem with Lindback - consistancy, or should I say lack of it. Zagar is the same - class rider when on song, but lacks consistancy. Really tough to choose from 2017 line up, so good, but..... in the mix at the top will be Sayfutdinov, Zmarzlik, Holder, and Woffinden. If Woffinden can win it in 2017 it will mean more then the other two he got. Edited January 27, 2017 by OveFundinFan

full-throttle
Having just watched the SEC Pairs, Zmarzlik, Doyle, Hancock and Piotr Pawlicki look to have hit the ground running. Should make for a great year when you add in Pedersen, Woffinden and Sayfutdinov
Mark
If any rider wins 3 GP's this season I will be amazed such is the competitive nature of the series. Could see 7 or 8 different winners in 12 GP's
T.N.T.
This is an amazing line up and have waited to see how riders start the season and will go with this. WHO CAN BE CHAMPUON Woffinden Doyle Zmarzlik Sayfutdinov WHO CAN BE TOP THREE Hancock Pawlicki WHO CAN BE TOP EIGHT Dudek Iversen Holder Lindgren Vaculik Janowski Zagar WHO WON'T BE TOP EIGHT Pedersen Lindback Gating is the problem for Tau as in the past his power saw him soon get by the light weight riders but now there are none and every point is a battle. Doyle looks the main contender but Emil and Zmarzlik are the ones that I think will be in the running. Bye Bye Nicki and Antonio and have worries about Magic and these three are my contenders for the drop next season at the moment.
