PHILIPRISING
.... .... Subscribe the Star so postie got it wet from the rain...... Paper and water do not mix very well UNDERSTAND that but not why the postman couldn't keep it dry. If that happens again call Dave on 020-83351113 and will send a replacement.
IronScorpion
You see quite a few magazines on the shelves in polythene/plastic covers & I subscribe to motorcycle magazines which, also, come in their protective cover keeping them dry. Is it a cost issue to keep them in paper covers rather than the cling film type or is it environmental?

tigerowl
Can we drop the celebrity fan feature please? It got embarrassing after Graham Stuart and the darts player Scott something or other. Someone who plays in a tribute band or cuts the grass at a sports stadium isn't a celebrity. Great magazine otherwise. It's the only thing (apart from this site) which keeps me up to date with the sport. I will go back to watch it the promoters ever decide to drop the doubling up / doubling down fiasco.

That particular feature is desperate. I assume it's trying to portray speedway as cool by having such 'famous' followers.

KevH
WILL enquire Did you? It wasn't featured in this weeks edition, and from my point of view, is sadly missed.

Piotr Pyszny
What are Speedway Star's (ABC) weekly and annual circulation figures? How do they compare to, say, 1980? Edited June 24, 2017 by Piotr Pyszny

waytogo28
MUCH lower No actual figures then?
Humphrey Appleby
No actual figures then? The audited circulation was about 12,000 a few years ago. If I remember, Philippe subsequently told us that didn't include subscription copies, and total circulation was around 18,000. Since then, he's mentioned it's dropped a lot lower. I'm just stating what facts I remember - not making comment on them.
PHILIPRISING
No actual figures then? NO... our circulation is obviously dependent on how many people attend speedway. That figure has dropped dramatically over the past five years. The lack of continuity of fixtures has also devastated track sales. If people don't attend very week (or as near as damn it) they don't buy on a regular basis. It isn't rocket science of course. The audited circulation was about 12,000 a few years ago. waytogo28
So are we led to guess that it is under 10,000 - all kind of sales included? Don't say 5,000. I hope that I don't end up as the last subscription reader! How nigh is the end?
