steve roberts
REG but really enjoyed watching Sean the prawn. Middleton Pander Holmqvist Lovaas Dews Berg Timmo. Interesting selection re Oxford! Unfortunately never saw Pander ride but mum remembers him as a regular visitor to the out patients local doctor's surgery (she was a receptionist there) My favourite 'Budgies' team would be Briggs, Ashby, Kilby, Crump, Hunter, Stangeland, McNeil. Grachan
Today Swindon would be: M. Ashby, Adams, P. Crump, Silver, McConnell, Kilby, Nilsen For Sheffield I'd probably go for riders that entertained me during a brief spell where Sheffield was the track I regularly attended: Carl Stonehewer, Sean Wilson, Simon Stead, Andre Compton, Derrol Keats, Ricky Ashworth, Andrew Moore. Halifax & Belle Vue - Don't care. Reading: Michanek (Boooo) Davis (Booooo) Jonsson (Booooo) Wiltshire (Boooo) Janusz Janusz Janusz Kolodziez (Booooo) Dave Jessup (Booooo) Martin Ashby (hoorayyy) Oxford: Dag Lovaas, Bob Kilby, Hans Nielsen, Martin Yeates, John Davis, Jimmy Nilsen, Lukas Dryml.
Andrew
Shawn Moran,Kelly Moran,Sean Wilson,Simon Stead,Andre Compton,Roman Matousek,Ricky Ashworth. My Tigers team is perhaps abit modern, only Shawn and Kelly make it from the British League era.I know Sean was also around from 86 to 88 but its from 1999 that he's included. Didn't include Reg or Doug as they were past their best when I really started to watch. A historical best Sheffield from 1960 onwards might be.... Shawn Moran,Arnold Haley,Reg Wilson,Doug Wyer,Jim Airey,Clive Featherby,Sean Wilson

norbold
No Mort , Johnson, some line up "norbold". You could get a second team out of Belle Vue better than many other first teams! Edited November 22, 2016 by norbold

chunky
This is where we can get a little confused... Is this thread designed to be a "Top Seven", or a "Favourite Seven"? Yes, there is a helluva difference. I was a huge fan of "Mad Wellie", but sadly, there is no way he would even be close to being in a "Top" seven for Swindon, and of course, the same could be said for Peter Glanz at Reading. With regard to the Robins, other strong contenders for a "Top" seven would be Simmo, Jimmy Nilsen, Tadeusz Teodorowicz, Ian Williams, George White, Brian Brett, and of course, Jason Crump. Oh, and Jan Andersson, For a "Favourite" team, you could have Andrew Silver, Rosco, Mad Wellie, Erik Stenlund, Mike Keen, Norman Hunter, Rolf Gramstad. Steve You are right Steve probably is best to stick to the best 7 ever because in my original favourite 7 had to miss Clive Hitch out who was a real favourite of mine. The BEST 7 and that is easy for me are Briggs Ashby Crump Adams Kilby Broadbank Doyle. lucifer sam
Mine for Oxford are: Favourite seven: 1. Hans Nielsen 2. Jens Rasmussen 3. Lawrence Hare 4. Craig Branney 5. Marvyn Cox 6. Mick Fletcher 7. Chris Mills Best seven: 1. Hans Nielsen 2. Marvyn Cox 3. Ron How 4. Arne Pander 5. Simon Wigg 6. Ronnie Genz 7. Todd Wiltshire Although you could have: 1. Hans Nielsen 2. Tony Rickardsson 3. Greg Hancock 4. Billy Hamill 5. Jason Crump 6. Nicki Pedersen 7. Simon Wigg (8. Leigh Adams) But for me, my 'best seven' is riders synonymous with the club, rather than just a list of World Champions who might have ridden for Oxford at some point.
