if we made it to SAM'S FLAMING FAREWELL and stayed till the end peter's can't be much worse. it snowed all the way up the M5 , i've got a photo of my friend with an inch of snow on her shoulders and someone next to us fainted from the cold. count us in.

Ah yes. The meeting when Wolfie used a track rake to write SAM in giant letters in the snow on the centre green. I've very nearly thawed out.

One thing that bores me with these meetings is the drip feed news of those riders taking part that are 100% predictable. Yesterday it was Freddie Lindgren, what a surprise.

If we get Pedersen, Emil, Tai or some of the top Poles then fair enough. Its bigger news to see them but not Wolverhampton riders. When do we get breaking news about Masters and Wells ?.

Which is exactly why I left the Lindgren thing out of my post above yours :t: All home riders are included in all early season meetings such as this to shakedown the machinery, human and mechanical. It ain't news.

Get Sudden Sam on a bike, plus Mikael who deserves some sort of farewell too. Also be nice to see Ronnie Correy involved. Those four were part of a great era for the club.

It would also be nice if Tai took part given the close links he has with PK.

I can't think of any other modern-day rider whereby I'd even consider attending their testimonial.

However, I will deem it an absolute privilege to support this event.

In a World where the term 'Legend' is so often wrongly overused, I can't think of a more fitting, nor apt, word to associate against Peter Karlsson.

How true PK is a Legend as he is the epitome of a team player /rider in what is deemed to be a team sport but ridden by individuals in many cases .We really won't see the "like" of him again ,he has been part of league racing at the highest level in this country for 25yrs plus and almost an impossible void to fill .

It's good to see some fans of other clubs commenting on the service PK has given to British Speedway.

I am still pretty disgusted at the reaction, or lack thereof, to him after he completed his final race at Monmore in the Olympique, a lap of honour (after winning from the back) with his helmet off and WELL over 50% of the crowd stood in absolute silence, couldn't even raise themselves to applaud nor even raise a hand. I commented on the night that I am not sure how they could call themselves 'fans' of Wolverhampton Speedway.

I hope plenty of fans come from other clubs to swell the attendance as I know many Wolves 'fans' won't bother to attend.
